Let's pray the rosary during the Obamamercial tonight

Pray the Rosary Tonight With Your Family During Obama's Infomercial
With unprecedented campaign donations of $600 million, Senator Obamahas not needed to do news interviews and has been able to control his message through ads and even a 30 minute infomercial this evening preceding the world series. He is outspending McCain four to one in the battleground states.
Hmm, Given his support of wealth distribution I wonder why he hasn't shared some of this good fortune with Senator McCain! The Obama team bought time on CBS, NBC and Fox for about $1 million per network. The spot airs tonight at 8 p.m. EDT. It is also scheduled to run on Univision, BET, MSNBC and TV One.
During Senator Obama's address this evening lets turn the television off and gather with our family members to pray the rosary asking Godfor leaders that will protect the sanctity of life, preserve the sacrament of marriage, and maintain the Godly heritage in which our nation was founded, assuring that it always remain
ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

Eduardo Verastegui is strenthening his support of McCain

Although Hispanic voters are lining up for Obama, THIS Hispanic man has his priorities straight. Reaching out to the Hispanic community, Verastegui told LifeNews.com, "I am endorsing John McCain for president because of his commitments to end abortion."
The former pop singer and telenovella star said anyone who discounts the power a president has over the outcome of abortion is mistaken.
"We need to put an end to abortion and political candidates play a very important role in this matter," he explained.
He says, "I can make hundreds of movies like Bella and save babies, but it's never going to be as powerful as a president nominating judges who observe constitutional law. John McCain promises to do this and it is crucial since we are just one Supreme Court justice away from overturning Roe v. Wade."
"More than 200,000 Latino babies are killed by abortion each year in the USA. This holocaust must end," Verastegui added. "That's why we must elect John McCain. He will defend and protect the unborn".

Those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it

Election Reflection
By Bishop Sean P. O’Malley, OFM Cap.

From The Anchor, the weekly newspaper of the Fall River Diocese
“Let the law be observed! Rise, then, for this is your duty! We will stand by you, so have courage and take action!” (Ez. 10:3-4).
Recently, someone asked me: “Who are you voting for?” Of course, my initial reaction was “It’s none of your business!” However, it is a question that bears asking. When we go into the voting booth, it is in some ways like going into the confessional box. The curtain closes behind us and we stand there before God and cast a ballot supposedly for the one whom we believe in conscience to be the best person. The difference is, I fear, that whereas we leave the confessional unburdened and peaceful with the joyful excitement of tasting God’s mercy, we can leave the voting booth with a heavy heart because perhaps we have said “Yes” to evil forces at work in this land.
Recently, a book has appeared whose thesis is that the German population, in general, was a willing participant in the holocausts. Many articles and reviews have pointed out the regime was ruthless in crushing opposition and dissent. What will history say about us? Future generations will say that we were paralyzed by political correctness, or more probably that everyone voted according to their pocketbook for the politician who promised the most tax cuts, or the most benefits, or best pork barrel. I am Irish enough to understand that the tribal allegiances that bound us to the Democratic Party are very strong and in our not-too-distant past, quite understandable. One Catholic president in 200 years speaks volumes about our history. What saddens me even more is that the next Catholic president probably will not be Catholic in any recognizable way beyond an Irish or Italian surname — with an “o” at one end or the other. The faith of our ancestors, tested by dungeon, fire and sword has succumbed to the Brooks Brothers suit and secular humanism, the new state religion.
The legalization of the partial-birth abortion procedure should be a wake-up call for Americans. Life, so revered in our Constitution, is no longer sacred in our country. It was once touted that abortions had to be legalized to allow for safe abortions for women in dire circumstances. The argument was a charade. The argument was the camel’s nose under the tent that has led to an avalanche of millions of abortions for convenience as the 1987 survey of the Allan Guttmacher Institute (a very pro-abortion group) has shown. People seem to forget that abortion is never safe for the baby. The systematic killing of millions of unborn children is part of a growing disregard for human life in America. Abortion has coarsened us, and we are now poised to start eliminating people who, because of a chronic or life-threatening condition, are inconvenient. Human beings tend to be inconvenient and expensive at both ends of their lives. We can learn much by looking at Holland’s experience, where public acceptance of assisted suicide has led to the legalization of medical killing without the patient’s consent. Close to 10 percent of all deaths in the Netherlands are due to euthanasia ... half of them without patient consent.
In our country, it is safe to predict that managed care medicine, and the high cost of nursing home care would cause an even higher rate of euthanasia than in a country like Holland. We are definitely at a crossroad. What kind of society do we want for future generations? Are we going to care about each other and pull together to protect and nurture human life, or are we going to opt for a society that wants to solve social problems by eliminating people in cold blood?

Think about that when you go into the voting booth and the curtain closes behind you. “Government for the people, by the people.” There is no Catholic party and many Catholic politicians aren’t. Remember that, “Thou shalt not kill” is written on your heart by the finger of God. We must look beyond sectarian politics, beyond personalities, beyond the hype and examine the issues and the issue is life. To say that, “it is a matter of life and death” is no longer a cliché.If you are a politician and you feel that you cannot be in favor of life and enjoy the support of your party or constituency, it is time for you to seek other employment before it is too late. Yet, I still hope that a politician of whatever party, with the courage of his or her convictions, could be elected by a conscientious electorate where so many profess to be believers. We must encourage our political parties to make room for men and women who are defenders of life.I have not said for whom I shall vote, but I will tell you for whom I will not vote. I will not vote for any politician who will promote abortion or the culture of death, no matter how appealing the rest of his or her program might be. They are wolves in sheep’s garments, the K.K.K. without the sheets, and sadly enough, they don’t even know it.
If I were ever tempted to vote for simply selfish reasons, tribal allegiances, or economic advantages rather than on the moral direction of the country, I should beat a hasty retreat from the curtain of the polling booth to the curtain of the confessional.
Well said, Cardinal O'Malley!

Here is a story which lends credence to Cardinal O'Malley's words.

Hymn to Hitler
by Lori Kalner
In Germany, when Hitler came to power, it was a time of terrible financial depression. Money was worth nothing. In Germany people lost homes and jobs, just like in the American Depression in the 1930s, which we have readabout in Thoene’s Shiloh books. In those days, in my homeland, Adolph Hitler was elected to power by promising“Change.” He blamed the “Zionists” around the world for all our problems. He told everyone it was greedy Zionist Bankers who had caused every problem we had. He promised when he was leader, the greedy Zionist bankers would be punished. The Zionists, he promised, would be wiped off the face of the earth.
So Hitler was elected to power by only 1/3 the popular vote. A coalition of other political parties in parliament made him supreme leader. Then, when he was leader, he disgraced and expelled everyone in parliament who did not go along with him.Yes. Change came to my homeland as the new leader promised it would.
The teachers in German schools began to teach the children to sing songs in praise of Hitler. This was the beginning of the Hitler Youth movement. It began with praise of the Fuhrer’s programs on the lips of innocent children. Hymns in praise of Hitler and his programs were being sung in the schoolrooms and in the play yard. Little girls and boys joined hands and sang these songs as they walked home from school.
My brother came home and told Papa what was happening at school. The political hymns of children proclaimed Change was coming to our homeland and the Fuhrer was a leader we could trust. I will never forget my father’s face. Grief and fear. He knew that the best propaganda of the Nazis was song on the lips of little children. That evening before he said grace at the dinner table, he placed his hands upon the heads of my brothers and me and prayed the Living Word upon us from Jeremiah 1:4-5…‘Now the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in thewomb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to The nations.”
Soon the children’s songs praising the Fuhrer were heard everywhere on the streets and over the radio. “With our Fuhrer to lead us, we can do it! We can change the world!” Soon after that Papa, a pastor, was turned away from visiting elderly parishioners in hospitals. The people he had come to bring comfort of God’s Word, were “no longer there.” Where had they vanished to while under nationalized health care? It became an open secret. The elderly and sick began to disappear from hospitals feet first as “mercy killing” became the policy. Children with disabilities and those who had Down syndrome were euthanized. People whispered, “Maybe it is better for them now. Put them out of misery. They are no longer suffering…And, of course, their death is better for the treasury of our nation. Our taxes no longer must be spent to care for such a burden.” And so murder was called mercy. The government took over private business. Industry and health care were “nationalized.” NA-ZI means National Socialist Party)
The businesses of all Jews were seized. (Perhaps you remember our story in Berlin on Krystalnachtin the book Munich Signature ?)
The world and God’s word were turned upside down. Hitler promised the people economic Change? Not change. It was, rather, Lucifer’s very ancient Delusion leading to Destruction. What began with the propaganda of children singing a catchy tune ended in the deaths of millions of children. The reality of what came upon us is so horrible that you in this present generation cannot imagine it. Our suffering is too great to ever tell in a book or show in a black and white newsreel. When I spoke to Bodie about some of these things, she wept and said she could not bear to write them. Perhaps one day she will, but I asked her, “who could bear to read our suffering?”
Yet with my last breaths I warn every Christian and Jew now in the name of the Lord,Unless your course of the church in America is spiritually changed now, returning to the Lord, there are new horrors yet to come.
I trembled last night when I heard the voices of American children raised in song, praising the name of Obama, the charismatic fellow who claims he is the American Messiah. Yet I have heard what this man Obama says about abortion and the “mercy killing” of tiny babies who are not wanted. There are so few of us left to warn you. I have heard that there are 69 million Catholics in America and 70 million Evangelical Christians. Where are your voices? Where is your outrage? Where is passion and your vote? Do you vote based on an abortionist’s empty promises and economics? Or do you vote according to the Bible? Thus says the Lord about every livingchild still in the womb…“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,and before you were born I consecrated you…”I have experienced the signs of the politics of Death in my youth. I see them again now.
Christians! Unless you stand up now,you will lose your freedom of religion. In America priests and preachers have already lost their freedom to speak openly from their pulpits of moral danger in political candidates. They cannot legally instruct you of which candidate holds fast to the precepts of scripture! American law forbids this freedom of speech to conservative pastors or they will lose their “tax exempt” status. And yet I have heard the words of Obama’s pastor Damning America! I have heard the words of Obama damning and mocking all of you in small towns because you “Cling to your religion…”
But I am a woman whose name is unknown. My life is recorded as a work of fiction. I have no fear of reprisal when I speak truth to you from the pages of a book. I am an old woman and will soon go to be with my Lord. I have no fear for myself, but for all of you and for your children, I tremble. I tremble at the hymns to a political leader which your children will sing at school. (Though even now a hymn or a prayer to God and our Lord Jesus is against the law in public school!)Your vote must put a stop to what will come upon America if Barrack Obama is elected. I pray you will personally heed this warning for the sake of your children and your grandchildren. Do not be deceived. The Lord in Jeremiah 1:7-8 commands every believer to speak up! “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth,’ for to all whom Isend you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of them for I am with you, declares the Lord!”

Americans United complain that the Catholic Church is too involved in politics

The Connecticut Supreme Court Decision legalizing same sex marriage becomes official tomorrow with it's publication in the Connecticut Law Journal and is expected to begin the week of November 10th.
Priests at Catholic masses around the state are telling parishioners about the importance of the upcoming election and "Question 1" which is the Constitutional Convention question. The church is backing up their campaign with a paid TV advertising schedule urging people to vote "Yes'" on question one.

from the website of http://www.wtnh.com/
Gay rights groups are comlaining that the Knights of Columbus are funding commercials supporting a Constitutional Convention which may be able to codify marriage as between one man and one woman. The Catholic fraternal organization is also funding commercials promoting Proposition 8 in California. They are afraid that the Church may be awakening the sleeping giant; the Catholic laity. And they may be right.
With only days remaining before the November 4 U.S. election, a tally has shown that over a quarter of America's bishops have published articles, issued statements or given interviews where they have declared that the most important issue for voters in their choice of a new president is the candidate’s stance on abortion.
The tally was put together by well-known Catholic journalist and blogger Rocco Palmo, and published in The Tablet, a Catholic periodical (See Rocco’s article here: http://www.thetablet.co.uk/article/12189). Catholics across the nation have taken the message pro-life to heart, as their pastors have repeatedly called on them to make the right to life the defining issue and to vote accordingly.
HT Catholic Online
The pastor of my parish spoke eloquently from the pulpit yesterday about loving the sinner but hating the sin. He then told us to support the Constitutional Convention, or YES on Question 1. I offered him a lawn sign which I had picked up at the Diocesan Pro-life Conference the day before.
He told me to put it on the church lawn. Priests have guts around here.
Remember the prohibition against clergy having freedom of speech came from then Senator Lyndon Johnson's efforts to silence Baptist preachers who objected to his corruption. It's time this law was challenged and removed. Minsters and priests led the Civil Rights and Abolition movements, and lead the pro-life movement. They have always reminded Americans of their duty to be obedient to God's commandments.
On Saturday, Fr Benedict Groeschel reminded prolifers, that Ben Franklin said that the Constitution is made for the governance of a religious people. Our form of government cannot control a society which is bent on moral depravity. Killing 4,000 babies a day and enforcing the re-education of schoolchildren that sodomy is normal is the most absolute moral depravity possible. We are heading for collapse, economically, socially, or a nuclear disaster if we do not change our ways. Mother Teresa said,
"A nation which kills its children cannot survive".
If the Catholic Church failed to opposed such abberations, woe to her leaders when they stand before the throne of Almighty God.
Read this article by Deacon Keith Fournier on how Catholic pulpits accross the nation are thundering with the truth.
HERE is Bill Donohue's response to the attack on Bishop Seratelli.
AMERICANS UNITED FLOATS STEREOTYPES
Catholic League president Bill Donohue sent a letter today to Lois G. Lerner at the IRS. The text is printed below:
Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State has made public his objections to Paterson, New Jersey Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli’s recent letter to his constituents on the subject of abortion. Lynn has asked you to investigate this matter, charging that “It is impossible to interpret this passage [the concluding paragraph of Serratelli’s missive] as anything but a command to vote against ‘the present democratic candidate’ because of his promise to sign a certain piece of legislation disfavored by the Catholic Church’s hierarchy.”
Perhaps it has something to do with the notoriously anti-Catholic origins of Lynn’s organization, which once called for high-ranking members of the Catholic clergy to be stripped of their constitutional rights, that led him to conclude that any FYI statement made on the part of the Catholic clergy regarding public policy matters constitutes a “command” to Catholics on how to vote. Indeed, only someone who has bought into the worst stereotypes of the Catholic Church would assume that bishops are in the business of giving marching orders to their congregants.
Lynn is a member of the clergy of the United Church of Christ, a religion that supports abortion rights. Moreover, Reverend Lynn makes no bones about his rabid pro-abortion views. He is entitled to that position. But just as it would be absurd for me to say that he has no right to exercise his freedom of speech by telling his congregants that certain candidates for public office hold views that are very different from their own on some issues, it is equally absurd for him to accuse Bishop Serratelli of crossing the line. In short, there is a profound difference between a passionately expressed opinion and a “command.”

It's time to take this to Our Lady

An Election Prayer to Mary
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care. Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new Culture of Life.
Trusting in your most powerful intercession, we pray…

Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in thy mercyhear and answer us.

Amen.

2008 ELECTION CONSECRATION PRAYER

Ever-faithful God, we consecrate the 2008 U.S. presidential election and our entire nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Loving Mother, Patroness and Protectress of the Americas. We ask that You take our Nation into Your Loving Care, reach into the hearts of the electorate, and give them the strength and enlightenment to know your Will, and to exercise Your Will in their vote.

Urgent Message from Fr. Corapi

No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is abortion.
I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that God's will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being.
God Bless You

Don't believe the polls; here are the true numbers

The liberal media wants us to concede the race. I admit they have me depressed. I am praying, but I can barely listen to the news. This is because, since I moved, we no longer have Fox News, and the mainstream media are simply fawning over Obama. I should know better!
Investors Business Daily was the one who correctly predicted the results of the 2004 election. We can trust them again. They say: "McCain has cut into Obama's lead for a second day and is now just 1.1 points behind," Investor's Business Daily indicates.
Its poll, conducted by the TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics, shows Obama at 44.8 percent, McCain at 43.7 percent and a large 11.6 percent of Americans still undecided.
"The spread was 3.7 Wednesday and 6.0 Tuesday" but McCain is making headway, IBD says, with middle- and working-class voters, and has surged 10 points in two days among those earning between $30,000 and $75,000."
"He has also gone from an 11-point defecit to a 9-point lead among Catholics," IBDD adds.
Kudos to the Catholic blogosphere, and good Catholic periodicals like National Catholic Register for keeping life issues in the forefront, and getting 19 points out of the Catholic vote.
Here is the American Family Association video which attempts to do the same with Evangelicals. It's good to be allied in trying to same this nation from the worst political candidate ever to run for office. United we will overcome!!

30 years ago today

Karol Wojtyla was elected pope. How the world has been changed by this charismatic, dynamic, intellectual, saintly man! Here is a piece where I share my memories of him, in the National Catholic Reporter.
We miss you, dear Papa, see you in Heaven!
Read about it here at Faith and Family Live!

SNL Sarah

Tonight Sarah Palin performed in the opening skit for Saturday Night Live. I haven't watched the show since college, but I wanted to see how she'd do instead of taking the word of the media tomorrow, so we tuned in as a family (I figured that Sarah's segment wouldn't be risque).
Alec Baldwin was with her playing an actor who is complaining about a conservative apppearing on SNL, who supposedly didn't realize it was really Sarah. She suprised him by saying she WAS Sarah Palin, and shaking his hand with a smile. Then she let him have it. She said, "Stephen was always my favorite Baldwin brother".
This was a perfect characterization of Sarah, charming and tough by turns.
I laughed harder because it reminded me of an incident last Labor Day Weekend, when my family was camping in Cedar Point, near East Hampton. We attended Mass on Sunday at Alec Baldwin's parish, Holy Rosary, discovering this when he arrived late, in shorts, attracting a lot of attention. He waved to his fans, and the Mass resumed. Afterwards, Alec stood with the two priests in the reception line, shaking hands. I waited for the priests to put him in this place, and realized with some dismay, that this was East Hampton, where celebrities rule.
I was irritated by his performance, and the crowd of older women surrounding him, (he is a notorious liberal and an abusive critic of some of my favorite Fox news commentators, this predisposed me to be annoyed) so I refused to joining the adoring throng. Besides, younger women were doing the same thing, passing him by. While we were crossing the street to the parking lot, I shot over my shoulder to my daughter but hoping to dig him, "his brother's a better actor anyway!"
Later, walking on the beach, I recriminated myself thinking, 'he must be awfully lonely coming to Mass to find some attention. He has alienated his ex-wife, his daughter, and half of the American public, maybe I could have shown some charity and invited him to a cook out at our campsite'.
Too late. I had found the opportunity to get in a good line irresistable.
So did Sarah!

Here's a Hollywood endorsement for John McCain

Knowing the liberal inclinations of the Left Coast, this endorsement is especially important; it's from pro-life movie "Bella" star, Eduardo Verastegui. "Although I seldom thrust myself into political campaigns, I recognize the stakes and that it's most important that we put our values first and support John McCain," the Bella star concluded.
Verastegui will put his money where his mouth is and he will talk about his values and announce his endorsement of John McCain during some upcoming events. He will also hold a series of private events and meetings to drum up support for John McCain and Sarah Palin in the Hispanic and faith based communities.
In the Obama video, a version of which
YouTube pulled from its servers, Verástegui, says Obama is out of step with the overwhelming majority of Hispanics who are pro-life.

Progress on You Tube Host Desecration Videos

from the Catholic League

YouTube AGE-GATES OFFENSIVE VIDEOS;
MORE STEPS MAY BE TAKEN

On October 15, Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke with an official from YouTube"s headquarters about his news release of October 7 objecting to 40-plus videos depicting the desecration of the Eucharist. He explains what happened today:

"The conversation I had was productive, and the official with whom I spoke was reasonable and professional. She fully understood the gravity of our concerns and admitted that many Catholics have contacted YouTube registering their outrage. Here is where we're at.

"The videos, posted by a young man, Dominique (he goes by 'fsmdude'), have been "age-gated."What this means is that the videos are not available to the general public"age confirmation is required. Moreover, the viewer is informed that the material may not be appropriate. The YouTube official stressed that this was a 'preliminary step,' part of an ongoing review process. In other words, they are taking the complaints made by the Catholic League seriously, and may yet decide to implement stronger strictures.

"In the course of the conversation, I made it clear that we do not object to making fun of Catholics, or for that matter Catholic beliefs and practices, just so long as they are made in good taste. Nor do we object to those who might vigorously reject the Catholic doctrine of transubstantiation. What we object to are situations where it is obvious that the whole purpose of the communication is to deliberately insult Catholics. It is one thing for an avowed atheist to lecture Catholics about their beliefs, quite another for someone to throw the Eucharist down the toilet, put it in a blender, etc. The latter represents malice, having nothing to do with discourse.

"As part of the Catholic League response to this issue, we are posting a
video on YouTube that further explains our position. We appreciate the seriousness that YouTube has shown to our concerns and hope they conclude that these videos violate their guidelines."

Texas bishops are straight shooters on Abortion and the election

Thank God for courageous bishops!
This unambiguous letter from Bishops Farrell and Vann tells it straight: abortion is THE defining issue of this election. Will Catholics listen?
The letter begins:
The month of October is Respect Life Month in our churches. It is a time in which we as Catholics are called to reflect upon the gift of life that has been entrusted to us by our Creator and to focus our attention on the many attacks against human life that exist in our culture today. This year, Respect Life Month takes on a more profound meaning as we face an election in our country where the protection of human life itself, particularly that of the unborn, is very much at stake. Therefore, as your Bishops, we wish to take this opportunity to provide clear guidance on the proper formation of conscience concerning voting as faithful Catholics and to articulate the Church's clear and unambiguous teaching on life issues as they relate to other issues of concern.

Americans United challenging Tax Exempt Status of Catholic Church

To my fellow Catholics, Americans United is threatening to attack the tax exemption of our Church. In the early days of my own work as a Constitutional lawyer, my Catholicism was a problem for Rev. Barry Lynn. Because of me, and others like me, he was unable to convince folks that all Christian people with whom he disagreed over the Right to Life and a host of other issues were “fundamentalists”. He wanted to denigrate us all by assigning us to what he hoped to argue was a small segment of Protestant Christianity, the "fundamentalists', who were a threat to the Republic. He failed then and he must fail now.

"When she was five years old she convinced her older brother that they should, as she says in her Life, "go off to the land of the Moors and beg them, out of love of God, to cut off our heads there." They got as far as the road from the city before an uncle found them and brought them back. Some people have used this story as an early example of sanctity, but this author think it's better used as an early example of her ability to stir up trouble."

Young Teresa showed a great predeliciton for, well, trouble. It was a sign. . . that her life would bring her to heaven the hard way, through reforming the Carmelite Order with her friend St John of the Cross, author of "Dark Night of the Soul"

ABC blocks prolife ads

There is a trend lately on YouTube, and mainstream media outlets to block the truth about Obama's pro-abortion record from reaching the American people.
After rejecting a radio commercial exposing Barack Obama's pro-abortion position, the ABC network has rejected a second ad. This one, sponsored by the Caring Outreach, has nothing to do with politics but is a 30-second television ad that features information on fetal development.
The group put together an ad entitled 85 Days that depicts intrauterine photos of an unborn baby in the first months of life.
The group tells LifeNews.com that the ad was slated to air on the Oprah program this month, but it has yet to appear during the program.

Connecticut bishops on Homosexual Marriage Ruling

Reacting to today’s decision of the Connecticut Supreme Court on same-sex “marriage,” the Connecticut Catholic Conference, representing the Catholic bishops, clergy, religious, and laity of the State of Connecticut (more than 1.3 million people), issued the following statement:
The Catholic Bishops of Connecticut and the Connecticut Catholic Conference are extremely disappointed in this close 4-3 decision by the Connecticut Supreme Court which imposes the recognition of same-sex marriage upon the people of Connecticut. This decision is in direct conflict with the position of our state legislature and courts of other states and is a terribly regrettable exercise in judicial activism.
Four people have not just extended a supposed civil right to a particular class of individuals, but have chosen to redefine the institution of marriage. The Connecticut Supreme Court has taken upon itself to make a determination that other courts throughout our nation have felt should be made through the political process.
Courts in other states, with the exception of Massachusetts and California, have ruled that marriage is a special institution in our society, not a civil right, and chose not to redefine it. Those courts felt that altering this historical and special institution was a legislative matter, and should be left to elected officials and the people they represent.
It appears our State Supreme Court has forgotten that courts should interpret laws and legislatures should make laws. In its decision today, the Connecticut Supreme Court stated again their philosophy that “as we engage over time in the interpretation of our State Constitution, we must consider the changing needs and expectations of the citizens of our State.” Determining the “contemporary” views of the public is the responsibility of the legislature, not the judiciary.
In his dissent, Justice Peter Zarella makes the important and obvious point that “the majority fails, during the entire course of …. (this) … opinion, even to identify, much less to discuss, the actual purpose of the marriage laws, even though this is the first, critical step in any equal protection analysis.” The majority utterly failed to consider the relationship between the laws of marriage and family. As Justice Zarella maintains, “The ancient definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman has its basis in biology, not bigotry.”
The Supreme Court of Connecticut has chosen to ignore the wisdom of our elected officials, the will of the people, and historical social and religious traditions spanning thousands of years by imposing a social experiment upon the people of our state.

Florida is already gearing up for another voting debacle

If you watched the debacle of 2000 where unsure voting inspectors peered at butterfly ballots by the thousands, searching for "hanging chads", you would NEVER want such a thing to happen again.
It was deliberate. The Voter News Service, a left learning organization, which appears from out of nowhere at election time, called Florida before up to 20,000 Floridians in the Conservative Central time zone in the Panhandle, could vote. They heard Florida was lost, and stopped coming to vote, even leaving lines. This is called vote suppression when it happens to Democrats. IF they had voted, George Bush would have had a commanding lead in Florida, avoiding the entire 6 week scandal.
Meanwhile, complaints were called in about Butterfly Ballots early in the afternoon, starting with some canvassing calls from a firm in Texas which was hired by Al Gore, stirring up doubts among Palm Beach seniors about the ballot design. (Unbelievably Theresa LaPour, the designer of that ballot was running for office in Palm Beach County a short while ago. She lost). As Sean Hannity said at the time, those Floridian seniors who can run six BINGO cards at once, couldn't manage a single Butterfly Ballot.

Felons' votes were counting in Florida, while Democrats were looking for an excuse to throw out servicemen's absentee ballots. Guess which way felons vote: 2 to 1 Democrat. Guess who is registering in record numbers, though state law prohibits them from voting? Felons. And officials say they haven't enough time to check their registrations according to this article in the SunSentinel.
NOTE to Republicans in Florida, volunteer to check those registrations for the sake of a fair election. And while you're at it, check for Democrat snowbirds who are voting both down there and up north. Bet you'll reduce the Democrat rolls significantly.
Let's make this as fair an election it can be despite the Dirty Daly Chicago vote factory.

ACORN and fraudulent voter registration

The New York Post had the headline, "One Man, 72 Votes" about an Ohio man who was bribed with cigarettes and registered to vote 72 times.
" a federal judge yesterday ordered Ohio's Secretary of State to verify the identity of newly registered voters by matching them with other government documents. The order was in response to a Republican lawsuit unrelated to the ACORN probe in Cuyahoga County, in which at least three people, including Johnson, have been subpoenaed.
Bribing citizens with gifts, property or anything of value is a fourth-degree felony in Ohio, punishable by up to 18 months in prison. And it's a fifth-degree felony - punishable by 12 months in jail."

Is Barack Obama qualified to be president? Vote now

You see how the internet is an equalizer. Expect it to be targeted if Obama wins. It will be payback time for those of us who weren't on board. The American Family Association is one of the most powerful grassroots organizations in America. They got 880,000 people to email the FCC about Janet Jackson's disgrace at the Superbowl. They got Ford and McDonald's to stop funding the gay agenda. And now they're taking on PBS. GO AFA!
PBS, the most liberal network in America (funded, incidentally, by your tax dollars) is running a poll concerning Sarah Palin. Their question is:
Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States?
Since PBS and the liberal media will widely publicize the results, AFA has decided to run a poll concerning the qualifications of Barack Obama.
The question: Do you think Barack Obama is qualified to serve as President of the United States?
Take the Poll!
PBS refuses to show the number of individuals voting in their poll. It could be that only a small handful voted. AFA will show the number voting.
Please send this to your family and friends.

Eucharist desecration back on YouTube

Time to voice your protest of YouTube's violation of it's own rules. Click on the petition form at America Needs Fatima. Robert Ritchie, director of America Needs Fatima, explained: "As Catholics, we believe the Host is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ. Witnessing the desecration of the Host causes anguish to Catholics all over the world."
Ritchie added: "In the past, YouTube has removed videos offensive to Jews and members of other religions, including one showing a teenager urinating on a Holocaust memorial. Why can't Catholics be afforded the same respect for our deeply held beliefs? "
"The desecration of the Host is not an acceptable form of free speech. The only message it conveys is one of unremitting hatred," Ritchie said.

“Our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee, Lord.” These words of St. Augustine reflect the deep seated human desire for spiritual things. It is as if we are interiorly programmed to seek God and the things of God. Unfortunately, because of our fallen human nature, many people are looking for the divine in all the wrong places. Some get involved in the occult and its dark practices. Others latch onto the New Age movement and its promise of enlightenment. In 1993, after a series of powerful conversion experiences, Ms. Noonan returned to the Catholic Church, and is now a popular speaker explaining the deeper meaning and influences of the New Age movement. She recently published her first book: Ransomed from Darkness: The New Age, Christian Faith, and the Battle for Souls.
During this day of recollection you will learn what the Catholic Church teaches regarding the occult and the New Age movement.
What is the real message of the New Age Movement and why people are so attracted to it.
How to identify occult practices that have crept into our culture and are being publicly promoted and much more. Read about her new book, "Ransomed From Darkness" here.

Petition Bob Schiffer to include

Petition Bob Schieffer of CBS News for a Fair Debate!October 13, 2008
Dear Friends,
Unless you act immediately by contacting CBS's Bob Schieffer, the moderator in Wednesday's final presidential debate, it's likely that the final meeting of the candidates will not contain any questions on marriage or abortion.
Last Friday, Connecticut's Supreme Court overturned that State's marriage law and mandated that every citizen recognize homosexual "marriage." Voters have the right to hear the candidates answer these timely questions:
Do you believe that the U.S. Constitution contains a right for homosexuals to marry?
Would you change the traditional definition of marriage contained in the federal Defense of Marriage Act?
Do you support the Defense of Marriage Act's provision allowing states not to recognize same-sex marriages from other states?
Have you ever opposed any ballot initiative seeking to define marriage as a relationship between one man and one woman?
No issue our nation faces is more important than the protection of innocent unborn life, so Mr. Schieffer should also question the candidates as follows:
Do you agree or disagree with the Supreme Court's decision allowing the government to ban abortions that kill a partially born baby?
Have you ever supported or opposed any law designed to protect the lives of babies that have survived an attempted abortion?
If you believe, as I do, that it's important for these questions to be asked at the upcoming presidential debate,
please sign our petition to Bob Schieffer at CBS News.
When you have done so, please forward this message to your friends and ask them to do the same. There is no time to lose. Thank you for taking action now, and may God bless you.
Sign the Petition to Bob Schieffer, host of CBS Face the Nation and moderator of the Third and Final Presidential Debate, Wednesday, October 15, 2008

It's time to get serious about praying for this election

I pledged to pray and fast for prolife candidates to win this election at Fast for Hope. I hope you will take this election seriously enough to join me.
So many innocent lives are at stake.

Not only millions of unborn babies, but school children who are having their innocence destroyed by the PC agenda of public schools, mandated by ideologues whose morality is at odds with the American people.

Just like the Supreme Court zealots who forced homosexual marriage on Connecticut last week.
We need prayer for this election.

CT Supreme Court OKs homosexual marriage

This decision leaves me speechless, all I can do is pray and let Dr Dobson do the talking for me. I am told that if you live in Connecticut, voting for a Constiutional Convention is a way to try and reverse this horrific ruling.

“Today’s ruling by the Connecticut Supreme Court to impose same-sex 'marriage' adds another tragic example of runaway judges trampling on citizens’ right to decide public policy for themselves. In doing so, the court has placed the desires of adults over the needs of children, who, social science research proves, do best when they are raised by their married mom and dad living in the same home.
“We decry this decision by justices unelected and unaccountable to the people, and will do whatever is necessary to oppose it. Not only have these judges knowingly deprived Connecticut children of a mother or a father, but they have usurped the role of the legislators to create law. Short of a federal marriage-protection amendment, marriage can only be truly protected by defining it in state constitutions. I pray the citizens of California, Arizona and Florida will seize the opportunity next month to settle this marriage crisis in their states once and for all.”

Abortion as Black Genocide - Obama and the Negro Project

Why is Obama supporting Planned Parenthoods' racist agenda?

To anyone who says boycotts don't work. . .

Family Research Council has chalked up another victory, McDonalds has renounced it's donations to the homosexual agenda. This was a boycott which really cost me as there are fewer fast food choices up here in the country. Thanks be to God, our efforts have made a difference. Remember this next time I have a petition to sign or a boycott announcement. Together we can make a difference!

Are the courts going to stop Obama?

This Clintons for McCain Palin website speaks of an investigation of Obama for violating Federal RICO laws. . ."The buzz in those corridors is that federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been leading a team of FBI investigators in 10 states working on a RICO case.
Today, it was announced that ACORN is being investigated in 10 states.
That’s one H-ll of a coincidence.
We asked why Fitzgerald would be involved in this, because he’s the prosecutor on the Tony Rezko case and we aren’t aware of ACORN being investigated in Illinois.
We were told that ACORN was investigated in Illinois years ago, and it was a Fitzgerald case then. This means ACORN’s activities today, involving a conspiracy to commit multi-state voter fraud on SoetorObama’s behalf, are an extension of that previous ACORN case."

Very interesting, this is what you get when you depose Her Majesty, Obama! (can you hear me snickering in cyncial glee?!) The best thing that can happen for our side is for Democrats to tear each other apart, claiming corruption. Hillary should know.
This may be the salvation of McCain Palin!

Connecticut Supreme Court OKs gay marriage

My new home state became the third in the nation to approve gay marriage.
I am so depressed about the stat of the nation, I don't watch the news anyore, I read my online source, and I blog. . .and pray!
The Family Institute of Connecticut, a political action group that opposes gay marriage, called the ruling outrageous.
"Even the legislature, as liberal as ours, decided that marriage is between a man and a woman," said executive director Peter Wolfgang. "This is about our right to govern ourselves. It is bigger than gay marriage."
Attorney General Richard Blumethal said the ruling will go into effect on Oct. 28, when it is implemented by action of the Superior Court. There will be no appeal, he said.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell said she disagreed with the ruling.

Current Financial Crisis - How did we get here?

If you want to understand how we got into financial trouble, watch this honest, hard hitting video and learn.

What we need is a moral bail out

This great post from Deacon Keith Fornier describes how the moral corruption led to economic collapse. All sin leads to ruin, and Wall Street is no exception; AIG big shots were on a multi-million dollar spa vacation in California the very week Congress gave them an expensive bail out package. According to the wisdom of Deacon Keith, it all comes down to the devaluing and com modification of the child.
When a society fails to recognize that persons are more important than things, when it loses sight of the primacy of the inviolable dignity of every single human person at every age, every stage and of every size, it soon devolves into a form of practical materialism, worshipping a new golden calf. It uses the language of human rights but has lost its true moral content. When there is no recognition of a preeminent right to life, there will soon be an erosion of the entire structure of human rights. Human rights do not exist in a vacuum; they are goods of the human person. This is why I absolutely insist that to be “Pro-Life” is NOT to be a political Partisan or a “single issue” voter. Rather, it is to be truly human and to recognize that there is a hierarchy of rights.

How John McCain can win the election

It's a lot closer than you think, many battleground states are in play, and here is the explanation of how we can pull off a pro-life victory in this election.Don't fall for the media ploy to say it's over and suppress the conservative vote. It happened in Florida in 2000 when they called the state before the polls closed, thus Florida was virutally tied, when Bush could have had a clear lead. Now they are trying to keep us from going to the polls altogether. Here's Steve Ertelt of Life News:
That leaves the following states in the battleground category still in play: Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada.
There are six reasons for McCain to find good news in this list of states:
a) These states have gone Republican in each of the last two presidential elections and have a history of embracing Republican presidential candidates.
b) McCain has enjoyed leads for most or all of the election in most of these states and, if Obama has led in any, he has never been over 50 percent.
c) Most of the recent polls in these states show McCain with a lead, the race tied, or Obama only leading within the margin of error -- and they are a departure from polls as recently as two-three weeks ago showing McCain trending higher.
d) Many of the polls conducted in these states did not completely include the Vice-Presidential debate, the increased focus on the Obama-Bill Ayers connection, or the trend on Monday and Tuesday in national polls in McCain's direction.
e) These are mostly states where the pro-life message and conservative positions on cultural issues still resonate.
f) If McCain can win each of these nine states, he will have a 274-264 electoral college lead and win the presidency.

The cultural crisis has peaked

Read this review of the new book; "The Pornification of America" at Newsweek, and when you have abosorbed the absolutely desperate state of today's culture, and THEN tell me that it's fixing the economy which is more urgent! There are millions of souls in the balance here in America.
"But it isn't just sex that Scott is worried about. He's more interested in how we, as a culture, often mimic the most raunchy, degrading parts of it—many of which, he says, come directly from pornography. In "The Porning of America" (Beacon), which he has written with colleague Carmine Sarracino, a professor of American literature, the duo argue that, through Bratz dolls and beyond, the influence of porn on mainstream culture is affecting our self perceptions and behavior—in everything from fashion to body image to how we conceptualize our sexuality."
We have never had a Bratz doll in our home, and never will. Keep your girls and boys away from this cesspool of a culture before it destroys them!

Why didn't Brokaw mention abortion in the debate last night?

This is the question on pro-lifers's minds today after a lackluster debate on the economy and foreign policy. Fr Thomas Berg, LC takes this issue on at National Review Online. My view is that the issue is too damaging for Obama, and we all know that any moderator of a debate has to be a liberal. Who decides that anyway?
Why doesn't McCain get Bill O'Reilly to moderate, and invite Obama publicly?

Maybe I just don’t get it.
As many otherwise pro-life Catholics voting for Obama this time around might want to remind me, “it’s the economy, stupid” — now more than ever, right?
Indeed, the common wisdom appears to be that in election 2008, the economy trumps every other issue in urgency and magnitude — even abortion. If pro-lifers think the pro-choice, pro-Freedom of Choice Act, pro-partial-birth-abortion candidate is more qualified to handle America’s looming economic disaster, why should they hesitate to vote for him?Catholic bishop Joseph Martino of Scranton responded to this logic in his pastoral letter for Respect Life Sunday (celebrated on October 5th this year in all Catholic parishes in the United States):
This reasoning is sound only if other issues carry the same moral weight as abortion does, such as in the case of euthanasia and destruction of embryos for research purposes. Health care, education, economic security, immigration, and taxes are very important concerns. Neglect of any one of them has dire consequences as the recent financial crisis demonstrates. However, the solutions to problems in these areas do not usually involve a rejection of the sanctity of human life in the way that abortion does.

Unleash the lipstick-wearin' Pit Bull!

Fred Barnes, one of my favorite political commentators, tells how the McCain campaign was holding Sarah Palin back out of the limelight, and cutting her wings in terms of how she was to talk in interviews on TV. No wonder she looked stressed!
On the debate, she was set free to be herself, and she was great!
One more point. It's a waste of time and talent to have Palin stump jointly with McCain. Palin needs to campaign alone. She can handle it. Her crowds will probably be bigger than McCain's, but he's not likely to let his ego interfere with a strategy that improves his chances of winning the White House.
McCain should feel vindicated. His choice of Palin as his running mate has turned out extraordinarily well. There's never been a national candidate like her, a mother of five from the boondocks who grins as she skewers her opponents. More important, she's given a significant gift to McCain. She's improved his chances of winning.

Franciscan University of Steubenville Board Member Quits over Obama Endorsement

A pro-life former law professor Nicholas Cafardi, the former dean of the Duquesne University Law School, has quit his position on the board of trustees for Franciscan University of Steubenville. Cafardi's decision comes after he received criticism for endorsing pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Cafardi recently
issued an endorsement for Obama and claimed the pro-life movement is dead -- drawing a strong rebuke from pro-life advocates.
I can't believe he could say the movement is dead, the truth is that despite the best efforts of the media, the pro-life movement is younger and more vibrant than ever.

Bill Donohue's lampoon

"I'm Catholic, staunchly anti-racist and I support David Duke" is up at Inside Catholic. Here's the reason for the outrageous title:

The following is a tongue-in-cheek reply to Nick Cafardi's article, "I'm Catholic, Staunchly Anti-Abortion, and Support Obama."
Nick Cafardi is on the board of the Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Here's Bill's reply:
I believe racism is an unspeakable evil, yet I support David Duke, who is pro-racism. I do not support him because he is pro-racism, but in spite of it. Is that a proper choice for a committed Catholic?

As someone who has worked with minorities all his life, I answer with a resounding yes. Despite what some say, the list of what the Catholic Church calls "intrinsically evil acts" does not begin and end with racism. In fact, there are many intrinsically evil acts, and a committed Catholic must consider all of them in deciding how to vote.

Is this the October surprise?

Obama mentor Tony Rezko may gain a lighter sentence from prosecutors if he reveals the secrets of corrupt Illiois politics. What will he say about Barack Obama?
Unmentioned at the trial was a purchase by Rezko's wife, Rita, of property adjacent to the Obama home near the University of Chicago on the city's South Side. Obama and his wife, Michelle, purchased their home the same day that Rezko's wife closed on her property. And she later sold some of her property to the Obamas to enlarge their lot. Obama later said that allowing Rezko to do what appeared to be a favor was a "bonehead" move.
Will it bring him down if Tony talks?
Rezko was convicted in June of mail fraud, wire fraud, attempted extortion and money laundering.
Several of the charges carry 20-year maximum sentences and while Rezko would not be expected to served that much time for a first offense he is still looking at the possibility of years in federal prison. A deal with prosecutors could reduce his time considerably.
Will this finally convince the American public that Barack Obama has a questionable past with corrupt associates?

Good News: Congress Renews Federal Funding for Abstinence Education

The U.S. Senate passed a bill Saturday that extends Community-Based Abstinence Education (CBAE) through September 2009.
Recipients of CBAE funds — the largest funding stream for abstinence education — include pregnancy centers throughout the country and charitable organizations.
Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said this is good news for U.S. students.
"We are pleased that the abstinence-until-marriage funding remains in place through next September, but we understand that the work to keep the funding in place will continue with a new Congress," she said.
The U.S. House passed the bill last week. It now goes to the president.

What's at stake in the election: millions of innocent lives

Catholic teaching is clear on this: of all the issues in the election only one is most important: HUMAN LIFE. All others, the environment, gas prices, the war, security, immigration, take a back seat.
If a candidate is proabortion as Senators Obamaand Biden are , then a Catholic may not vote for them.
If a candidate is prolife, as John McCain and Sarah Palin are, then on this issue alone, Catholics must vote for them.
WHY?
50 million babies have died since Roe v Wade in 1973. This is far more than lives lost in the Iraq war, or to street violence, or the death penalty. Until this injustice is ended, nothing else comes close in importance.
Here is what a liberal newspaper, the LA Times says it at stake in the election: Roe v Wade.“Every four years, defenders of abortion rights proclaim that the fate of Roe vs. Wade hangs on the outcome of the presidential election,” the Times said in a Sunday story. “This year, they may be right.”

India has too few baby girls

I once saw a docutmentary about this situation of eugenic infanticide of baby girls in India, and this article in MercatorNet vividly describes the consequences of the killing of 50 million baby girls on this newly prosperous nation. First women are killed because they are women, then they are treated as slaves because they are too few. Mother Teresa tried to solve this problem by saying, "don't kill the child, we will take the child" and the Missionaries of Charity's orphanages have had thousands of baby girls adopted to European families.
Yet the slaughter continues, despite growing prospertiy, and aided by new ultrasound technology. This is a clear example of the humanizing influence of the Culture of Life provided by the Catholic Church, which is sorely overpowered in this tragic land. The problem is most pronouned in the North, just the are which is killing Catholics en masse.
Blessed Mother Teresa, pray for India.

Our Lady of Victory and the Election

By Father George W. Rutler
This Tuesday we remember another October 7, in 1571, when the Battle of Lepanto was fought off the western coast of Greece, the largest naval operation before the Normandy invasion. The Holy League, put together by Pope St. Pius V, had 212 fighting ships with 12,920 sailors and 28,000 soldiers, while the Muslim forces of the Ottoman fleet had 278 war vessels, 13,000 sailors and 34,000 troops. Our world, and our little corner of it in New York, would be unrecognizable today had the outcome of that five-hour battle been reversed. St. Pius made that day a Feast of the Holy Rosary in thanksgiving for Our Lady's intercessions, and added to her titles "Our Lady of Victories."
We are now engaged in a clash of cultures even more widespread, and to reduce it to a mere political or economic paradigm would be to ignore its spiritual significance. Observers have remarked a parallel with the moral test which the Church faced in World War II when Blessed Clemens August Cardinal von Galen of Münster risked his life to preach against the eugenics policies sanctioned in his country. Today bishops are also moved to speak out in defense of life when it is threatened in an unprecedented way.
October 4–5 is Respect Life Weekend, and Bishop Joseph F. Martino of Scranton has written a pastoral letter recalling the Church's duty to speak prophetically about our nation's foundational principles. Bishop Martino, whom I knew when we were students in Rome, is a fine historian who did the research for the canonization cause of St. Katherine Drexel. In his letter he quotes his predecessor, Bishop Timlin: "The taking of innocent human life is so heinous, so horribly evil, and so absolutely opposite to the law of Almighty God that abortion must take precedence over every other issue.
I repeat. It is the single most important issue confronting not only Catholics, but the entire electorate." Bishop Martino reminds his people that "it is incumbent upon bishops to correct Catholics who are in error regarding these matters. Furthermore, public officials who are Catholic, and who persist in public support for abortion and other intrinsic evils should not partake in or be admitted to the sacrament of Holy Communion."
A writer for U.S. News & World Report has accused the Bishop of Scranton of violating the First Amendment by denying Communion to anyone who publicly contradicts the Church. This turns inside out the Amendment which forbids the government to interfere with the free practice of religion. Blessed Clemens von Galen well knew such stratagems of the media to intimidate the Church. Pope Benedict XVI, a successor of St. Pius V and also a fervent disciple of von Galen, has said: "God is so humble that he uses us to spread his Word." Neither powerful armies nor minor journalists can stop that.

Eduardo Verastegui is putting stardom to good use telling the truth

This is from freelance writer and editor, Anita Crane who was fortunate enough to interview Eduardo for "Celebrate Life" when he was in "Bella". He made a huge impression on the women at a local abortion clinic when he went there to do sidewalk counseling.
Armed with a rosary, Miraculous Medals and DVD copies of his latest production, Dura Realidad, which means Hard Truth, Verastegui and his friends approached seven women as they stood in line to enter the aforementioned abortion office.
John Anthony Hernandez, coordinator of 40 Days for Life Los Angeles, witnessed Verastegui’s talent and skill. He said, “The words just seemed to flow from Eduardo and his companions who showed them the pro-life film, Dura Realidad, and directed the mothers to the LAPS [Los Angeles Pregnancy Services] center for help. He also handed everyone a Miraculous Medal and told them the beautiful story behind the medal and God’s great love for us.”

The Wanderer reports on Pro Homosexual Choir Director in Massapequa Park

Here are my reasons for objecting to the appointment of Peter Rapanaro as Leader of Song at Our Lady of Lourdes parish.
“ 1) Proudly displayed on his web site is the fact that he directed the recent Off- Broadway production entitled: My Big Gay Italian Wedding. The description of it from his own web site is below: “ ‘ Planning a wedding can be hell. And planning to ruin a wedding can be a hell of a lot of fun — especially when one of the grooms is your ex- lover!
“ ‘Anthony Pinnunziato and Andrew Polinski are getting married. Anthony insists on a big, traditional Italian wedding — but there are a few problems. Anthony’s family won’t give their blessing unless he can fulfill two requirements: The ceremony is to be performed ] by a priest, and Andrew’s estranged mother in Florida must give her blessing too."
The families are presented as deranded, confused Catholics while the actively homosexual men who want to get 'married' are the heroes. This mocks our Church's most sacred teaching on marriage. Anyone who is involved with such a production, needs the sacrament of confession, not a position of honor in a Catholic Church. Perhaps if Peter Rapanaro did repent of supporting these works publicly, his participation would cause less scandal.
The Wanderer continues,
“ 2) Mr. Rapanaro has also been involved in the production of Rainbow PHi, a gay musical.
This was performed on Fire Island, famous for it's gay resorts.

“ 3) Boldly displayed on his homepage are several pictures of himself with Frank Marino, the drag queen and female impersonator, and two openly gay fashion designers, Carson Kressley and Robert Verdi.

“ Now, Mr. Rapanaro may have a splendid voice and be a wonderful entertainer, and he’s probably a really nice guy, too, and hopefully he will continue his wonderfully successful career on stage and elsewhere.
“ The problem here is not with him personally, but rather with the principle involved, so here’s a question: “ Is it right for the Diocese of Rockville Centre and Msgr. Lisante to have a person who openly and actively promotes a way of life, namely, the sexually permissive ‘ gay’ lifestyle and gay marriage, in a regular place of prominence on the diocesan television channel and now singing in our church?"
Well said, I hope that the faithful raise their voices as one and stop this travesty!

Peggy Noonan and Fred Barnes on Sarah Six Pack

"Sarah Palin saved John McCain again Thursday night. She is the political equivalent of cardiac paddles: Clear! Zap! We've got a beat! She will re-electrify the base. More than that, an hour and a half of talking to America will take her to a new level of stardom. Watch her crowds this weekend. She's about to get jumpers, the old political name for people who are so excited to see you they start to jump."
I am a little shy to say it, but if she ever comes near me, I'll be jumping for joy!
Read the entire article at the Wall Street Journal.
Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard and Fox New's "The Beltway Boys" was very impressed with Sarah's performance and said she is the clear winner. He says, "She may have passed two other tests as well. Did she once more energize the conservative base of the Republican party as she had when McCain picked her a month ago? Probably.YES! And was her performance strong enough to change the direction of a campaign that has seen Barack Obama widening a lead over McCain in recent weeks? Maybe.
For sure, she did one remarkable thing aside from handling Biden with ease. She undid the negative impression that had been created by her avoidance of most of the media and hardened when the two TV interviews went poorly. Her image was that of someone unqualified to be vice president and uninformed on major issues."

Peggy Noonan on Vice Presidential debate

Great photos from VP debate

From the Gateway Pundit.
Sarah blew Biden away, didn't she? As Peggy Noonan says, "she had him at 'Can I call you Joe?"!
AWESOME example of how to grind your opponent into the dirt while keeping your sense of humor, and your feminity.
They used to tease Maggie Thatcher, with the nickname, Attila the Hen.
Sarah is an iron hand covered by a velvet glove.
WHOO HOO!
Go Sarah!

Cutting off support to pro-abortion Marie Stopes

from Austin Ruse at C-FAM
US Government Cuts Off Supplies to Marie Stopes International
By Samantha Singson (NEW YORK – C-FAM) According the news reports, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has issued a new directive requiring several African countries to stop providing United States-funded contraceptives to Marie Stopes International (MSI), one of the world’s leading abortion providers.
USAID decided to take action and pull support for MSI in Africa because of the organization’s collaboration with China’s draconian population program.
Under US law, any organization that “supports or participates in the management of a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization” is prohibited from receiving American foreign aid. This law, also known as the Kemp-Kasten amendment, has been used since 2002 to deny funding to United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The possibility that other complicit groups would also be affected was hinted at by the US State Department a few weeks ago when it once more withheld funds from UNFPA.
The US government informed Ghana, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe that it did not want any USAID-funded contraceptives to be provided to Marie Stopes International.
The AP reports that the US does not give any direct assistance to MSI, but that the organization is a leading family planning health provider in Africa and one of several distributors of US-donated contraceptive commodities, like condoms and intrauterine devices.
MSI chief executive Dana Hovig denied the allegations of cooperating with forced abortions in China, stating, “To the contrary, MSI is one of the few organizations that has worked over the past decade to increase the availability of voluntary, client-centered family planning services in China.” He blasted the USAID decision as “purely political and dangerous to the lives of women.”
The US State Department and USAID have said that the directive only affects MSI and that the same amount of US-donated contraceptives would be distributed in the African nations by other groups.
Marie Stopes has been a long-time advocate for abortion rights worldwide. For the past year, MSI has been collecting signatures for their “Global Safe Abortion” campaign which demands “for women’s access to legal, safe abortion to be recognized as a fundamental human right.” Pro-life initiatives to counter MSI’s campaign have also been launched.

You can expect this sort of righteous action to stop if Obama is elected.
