How John McCain can win the election

It's a lot closer than you think, many battleground states are in play, and here is the explanation of how we can pull off a pro-life victory in this election.Don't fall for the media ploy to say it's over and suppress the conservative vote. It happened in Florida in 2000 when they called the state before the polls closed, thus Florida was virutally tied, when Bush could have had a clear lead. Now they are trying to keep us from going to the polls altogether. Here's Steve Ertelt of Life News:
That leaves the following states in the battleground category still in play: Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada.
There are six reasons for McCain to find good news in this list of states:
a) These states have gone Republican in each of the last two presidential elections and have a history of embracing Republican presidential candidates.
b) McCain has enjoyed leads for most or all of the election in most of these states and, if Obama has led in any, he has never been over 50 percent.
c) Most of the recent polls in these states show McCain with a lead, the race tied, or Obama only leading within the margin of error -- and they are a departure from polls as recently as two-three weeks ago showing McCain trending higher.
d) Many of the polls conducted in these states did not completely include the Vice-Presidential debate, the increased focus on the Obama-Bill Ayers connection, or the trend on Monday and Tuesday in national polls in McCain's direction.
e) These are mostly states where the pro-life message and conservative positions on cultural issues still resonate.
f) If McCain can win each of these nine states, he will have a 274-264 electoral college lead and win the presidency.

It's interesting to see how quickly you "pro-life" single-issue voters get behind an erratic warmonger. Where's you compassion for the nearly 100,000 Iraqi civilians that have been killed as a result of the bombs that you paid for?

That's an incredibly myopic statement for someone kvetching about single-issue voters. To start with, you assume those of us with pro-life (sans scare quotes) concerns don't have compassion for civilians in Iraq. I believe we call that "proof by assertion" since you are utterly incapable of providing any actual proof of the direction and quantity of our compassion. Suffice it to say I shudder every day when I think of the lives shattered in the process of the conflict in Iraq. Fortunately for me (since being pro-life does not require myopic vision), I'm also able to shudder in horror at the thought of all the innocent babies slaughtered in the wombs of misinformed mothers which have equally been paid for by my tax dollars.

Straw men are dangerous to carry around when playing with matches.

Good point. I apologize for making what appears to have been an unwarranted assumption. While I certainly don't agree with your ideas about abortion, I do respect your faith and would never try to talk you out of that position.
