Just don't buy her a turkey sandwich!!

As an inner city high school teacher in the minority community, I saw it every week. A teacher taking a student for an abortion.They were lauded as heroes in Long Island high schools. Twice, I was asked  to translate Planned Parenthood's lies into Spanish to help ruin my students' lives or risk losing my job (both times I prayed and was spared this choice, a story for another post)
 Planned Parenthood recruited the best and the brightest of my students to be 'peer counselors' or more plainly, marketers for abortions in the Latina community.The bilingual history teacher had a huge poster of his hero, Margaret Sanger on his classroom wall. I spoke  with the students about the ramifications of abortion and was rewarded with unemployment. Such is the state of affairs in your local public high school. But times are changing, thanks to our Presidents's fatal blunder on the HHS Mandate, these evil deeds are up for discussion again. He thinks we are OK with contraception for minors and contraception paid for by the Catholic Church. He is about to get the shock of his life!

Here's an unsurprising article about a teacher obtaining a Plan B chemical abortion pill for a student. Abortions obtained without the underage girls' parents' knowledge is old news. She is the victim of sexual abuse, Planned Parenthood helps her lie and cover up for her abuser, and its old news. But now, thanks to the HHS mandate controversy, a new audience has arisen to listen to the litany of abuses perpetrated by the merchants of death upon young women.
You are getting a new opportunity to show you care that the pill is defined by the World Health Organization as a carcigogen. That the pill is a leading cause, along with abortion, of the scourge of breast cancer, and organizations like Susan B Komen have NO BUSINESS funding it if they truly care about women's health. Don't believe me, read my microbiologist friend, Dr Gerard Nadal. 
Catholics and their supporters against the HHS Mandate have a teachable moment in that the American public has been lied to since the Pill came out in the sixities. Now the nation is talking about the forbidden subject, and its time to get the facts out there. Learn the facts, speak out boldly America!

Abortionists who kill women: will they face criminal charges?

Well abortion is legal, and women are dying. Only not in the back alley, they are dying in state sanctioned if not state inspected abortion mills. No wonder Virginia State Attorney General Cuchinello is calling for more stringent standards for abortion mills. Look at the list of criminals below who call themselves pro-woman!

Yesterday, Massachusetts abortionist Rapin Osathanondh pled guilty to one charge of manslaughter for his criminal negligence in the abortion death of Laura Hope Smith in 2007. He is scheduled to be sentenced today to three months in the County jail, four months of house arrest, and three years of probation.

"Osathanondh's mansaughter conviction should encourage prosecutors across the nation to criminally charge other abortionists who are breaking the law," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "It is the only way to protect women from suffering at the hands of these dangerous and predatory abortionists, on which traditional forms of discipline simply do not work."

Last week, Maryland suspended the medical license of Romeo Ferrer, who killed Denise Crowe in 2006, declaring that Ferrer presented such a danger that "the public health, safety or welfare require emergency action in this case."

Maryland also suspended the medical licenses of Utah abortionist Nicola Riley and Delaware abortionist George Shepard for their participation in an illegal late-term abortion scheme that landed one woman in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. That scheme was operated by the notorious Stephen Chase Brigham, whose New Jersey license has been suspended effective Thursday.

The pro-life groups plan to discuss the crisis of illegal abortion activity and other abuses that currently define the abortion industry, and will call for criminal charges against the four abortionists who were suspended last week.

Catholic Speaker month: Dawn Eden

Dawn Eden was born to a Jewish family in New York City. When she was in high school, she lost her faith and became an agnostic. During her 20s, in the 1990s, she worked as a rock journalist, interviewing bands for music magazines. She went on to work for New York City newspapers, including the New York Post and the Daily News.

She underwent a dramatic conversion to Christianity at age 31, which eventually led her to enter the Catholic Church. With her new faith came a change in lifestyle as she discovered the truth and beauty of Christian teachings on chastity.

That led to the publication of her first book, describing her personal transformation in hope of helping others make positive changes in their own lives: The Thrill of the Chaste: Finding Fulfillment While Keeping Your Clothes On. Currently in its ninth printing, The Thrill has also been published in Spanish, Polish, and Chinese. Dawn has discussed it on NBC's "Today" show and EWTN's "Life on the Rock."
Now living in Washington, D.C., where she is pursuing a graduate degree in theology, Dawn has spoken about chastity to college students and young-adult groups throughout North America, England, Ireland, and Poland, as well as at World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney.

Dawn, you began your career as a rock journalist living the "Sex in the City" lifestyle. Now you are a happily famous, chaste Catholic single woman living in the center of God's will for you.

What would the old you make of who you are now?

"If I had known when I was a rock journalist, during the 1990s, that I would be a Catholic author and speaker, studying for an M.A. in theology at Dominican House of Studies, it would have shocked me, for two reasons.
"First, I would never have expected to have a religious conversion. It was something I wanted throughout my teens and 20s, because I wanted to be happy, and I knew that faith made people happy. But I had tried numerous times to work myself up into a believing state of mind, and concluded in frustration that faith was not a gift that had been given to me. I was resigned to being an agnostic.
"Second, I would never have expected to find personal fulfillment in a career other than rock journalism. That field was extremely limited in terms of job opportunities, but I felt hopelessly locked into it because there was no other kind of work that I enjoyed. So the idea that I could be happy studying theology, or writing and speaking about faith and personal growth, would have amazed me.
"I also would have been extremely surprised to find myself pro-life and conservative, but that would not have surprised me as much as my spiritual and vocational transformation.
"When I give talks, I imagine that there are people present who are as I was, and I speak to them the way I wish someone had spoken to me. Had I known as an unconverted rock journalist that I could have the level of personal happiness and fulfillment that I have now, it would have intrigued me, even if I were mystified by my older self's faith and lifestyle. Everyone longs for God's healing grace, whether they realize it or not; I was no different."

You had a famous blog "The Dawn Patrol" which you discontinued to pursue other avenues. What are you doing with all that free time you used to blog?
"I am currently in my second year towards a master's in theology at Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. My goal is to attain a doctorate in moral theology so that I might become a professor at a small Catholic college. I would love to write another book if a publisher approached me to write one, but for now am happy to continue my studies and give talks."

I first met Dawn at Faith on Tap on Long Island where she told the story of how being outed as a pro-life blogger caused her to be fired from the New York Post. Her outspoken eloquence inspired me to come out as a pro-life blogger at the college where I worked.

We shared a podium at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists at St John's University Law School in 2007, for a discussion on the role of the Catholic Blogosphere. When I moved to a quiet Catholic corner of Connecticut, I was delighted to discover that Dawn had found it too and quickly became a favorite of my pastor, Fr Tito, and the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. Dawn Eden is a beautiful Catholic woman whose humility makes her an excellent role model for young women. Pope Benedict praised women in Jordan Mass

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the importance of a topic and my inablity to cover it sufficiently here, therefore, I just cover the bits of the news, like the Holy Father's visit to the Holy Land which inspire my comments.
Like his address to women. When a pope has traditonal values on morality (surprise!) he is trashed as a misanthrope, a patriarchal neanderthal. So, New York Times, listen to his homily at a Mass in Jordan.
"How much your society owes to all those women who in different and at times courageous ways have devoted their lives to building peace and fostering love! From the very first pages of the Bible, we see how man and woman, created in the image of God, are meant to complement one another as stewards of God's gifts and partners in communicating his gift of life, both physical and spiritual, to our world. Sadly, this God-given dignity and role of women has not always been sufficiently understood and esteemed. The Church, and society as a whole, has come to realize how urgently we need what the late Pope John Paul II called the "prophetic charism" of women (cf. Mulieris Dignitatem, 29) as bearers of love, teachers of mercy and artisans of peace, bringing warmth and humanity to a world that all too often judges the value of a person by the cold criteria of usefulness and profit. By its public witness of respect for women, and its defence of the innate dignity of every human person, the Church in the Holy Land can make an important contribution to the advancement of a culture of true humanity and the building of the civilization of love."

Sarah Palin: Super Mom Makes a Super VP.

No one lists ‘motherhood’ on their resume, least of all a vice presidential candidate. But Governor Sarah Palin, who has just been named Senator John McCain’s running mate, finds herself talking more about her motherhood than her record of cleaning up Alaska politics. And most of the questioners are card-carrying NOW members. What are they thinking?
Could these pundits have rediscovered their lost parenting instincts? Or is something more sinister at work? I suspect that liberals are feeling the hot breath of a new feminist on their necks, and have come out of their comfortable thrones in the mainstream media loaded for bear. How dare a conservative woman leave her kitchen! Stay home with your son, and keep his adorable face out of the media lest people learn that 90% of children like him are aborted. Don’t you dare look so slim only four months after giving birth, you got some explaining to do, or we’ll make up our own story.
And what’s with the cool glasses and posh up-do? You people are supposed to look frumpy!
The point is that Sarah Palin contradicts the liberal’s reviled stereotype of the angry conservative woman, “clinging to her guns and religion”. They understand her combination of values as poorly as they comprehend the name of the organization she belongs to: “Feminists for Life”. A mother who is tough on corruption, yet tender with errant children. A wife who supports and is supported by her husband. An intelligent woman who loves God. A pistol-packing mamma who breastfeeds her baby. A meat-eater who enjoys nature. Such a description of Sarah Palin’s character is reminiscent of the frontier woman, once was considered the gold standard of womanhood. Some of us recognized these traits right away and were whooping for joy on Friday thinking, here’s the woman who can take on Washington and the Taliban! Here’s the vibrancy and moral clarity which seems to have drained from the Republican Party! Who else but the mother of five, can burst into the beltway with a gust of icy Arctic Air, blasting away the cobwebs of cronyism?
None other than the mother who faced the daunting prospect of raising a child with Trisomy 21 and accepted him lovingly. She said that Trig was a gift from God, and proudly carried him in her arms in a YouTube video she made a week after his birth, causing this special needs mom to take notice. A true test of character is living by your standards when it has a personal cost. And now that her seventeen year old daughter Bristol’s pregnancy has been made into a campaign issue, Sarah headed off ugly rumors by reminding us what a good mother does in such situations. She supports her daughter so that she can choose what’s best for all concerned. Life. And she’s not afraid to tell us so.

Sarah Palin’s seasoned motherhood has added tremendous gravitas to her character, and her resume. What she did as a hockey mom was not wasted. Her life as a mother taught her lessons which made her into the wise, dynamic woman praised in Proverbs 31. Ignoring feminist dogma, she didn’t need to make herself into a man to be successful; Sarah Palin is successful because femininity fully lived just may be the most powerful force in the world.
Pope John Paul II wrote in his 1995 letter to women;
“Thank you, women who work! You are present and active in every area of life-social economic, cultural, artistic and political. In this way, you make an indispensable contribution to the growth of a culture which unites reason and feeling, to a model of life ever open to a sense of mystery, to the establishment of economic and political structures ever more worthy of humanity. Through the insight which is so much a part of your womanhood, you enrich the world’s understanding and help to make human relations more honest and authentic.”
“Women will increasingly play a part in the solution of the serious problems of the future: leisure time, the quality of life, migration, social services, euthanasia, drugs, health care, the ecology, etc. In all these areas a greater presence of women in society will prove most valuable, for it will help to manifest the contradictions present when society is organized solely according to the criteria of efficiency and productivity, and it will force systems to be redesigned in a way which favors the processes of humanization which mark the “civilization of love.”
“It is thus my hope, dear sisters, that you will reflect carefully on what it means to speak of the “genius of women,” not only in order to be able to see in this phrase a specific part of God’s plan which needs to be accepted and appreciated, but also in order to let this genius be more fully expressed in the life of society as a whole, as well as the life of the Church.”

This “Civilization of Love” which John Paul mentions might sound gentle, but establishing it in a in the midst of the Culture of Death takes the greatest possible courage. It takes a mother.
Meet Sarah Palin, supermom, proud possessor of feminine genius, and the best candidate ever for Vice President. She seems to have been chosed by God to perform this special task at this extraordinary hour of need.

Pope John Paul II on women who work

from the Letter to Women, written in June 1995:

I believe that Sarah Palin has already expressed the "genius of women" by cleaning up the corruption and waste in Alaska's politics, and running a honest, responsive state governement and winning an 80-90% approval rating from her constituency. She has expressed the feminine genius in her personal life by being the proud mother of five, including her son Trig with Down syndrome. She considers him a gift, and seems to be doing a fine job juggling her family and political responsibilities. I believe Sarah Palin is the type of woman our Holy Father had in mind when he wrote this letter.

Let the APA that abortion hurts women!

It has been said by many in the pro-life movement that abortion will be ended when the millions of women it has wounded speak out. Now is their chance.
The American Psychological Association needs help with it's case of denial. It's so wedded to the secular humanist mentality which prohibits any kind of moral code, that it adopts unscientific doctrinaire positions like this one. Women who love the women hurt by abortion; now's your chance to speak out.
Because, as Feminists for Life says,
Women deserve better than abortion.

Last week the American Psychological Association (APA) released a heavily biased report with a sweeping pro-abortion conclusion based upon one solitary study -- to the detriment of American women's health. In recklessly dismissing a body of scientific research which establishes the negative mental health effects associated with abortion, the APA has shown itself to be blind to the scientific evidence and callous towards the well-being of women.
The APA needs to hear from you that a new, more-scientifically based report is needed. Any research needs to be broader in scope and include studies that this report ignored; for example, studies that have highlighted the high prevalence of women affected by repeat abortions or studies that have shown an equally high number of women in the U.S. who have felt "coerced" into their abortions.
There is a growing body of testimony from real women who have suffered from abortion, as cited by last year's Supreme Court decision in Gonzales v. Carhart which upheld the federal ban on partial-birth abortion.
Please contact Dr. Alan E. Kazdin, the current President of the American Psychological Association, and let him know that this biased report does further harm to women by covering up the truth!Thank you for taking action today.
