Planned Parenthood honors abortionist Tiller

You can always judge people by who their heroes are.

"Alexander Sanger, grandson of Margaret Sanger, the woman who founded Planned parenthood and who has come under fire for having racist views for doing so, presented Tiller with the award.

"For 30 years, George Tiller stood up to protests, harassment and assaults, even being wounded some years ago in a shooting," Alexander Sanger said. "He kept his clinic doors open to give a choice to women who never imagined they would ever need it — women with a wanted pregnancy that had gone terribly awry as it progressed."

By going awry, Sanger means a baby with Down syndrome or Spina Bifida. What would we have done without St George to kill our disabled babies and maim their mothers?

Remember, we subsidize this business withour tax dollars. This is likely to increase under the Obama administration.

The American Holocaust Museum: Tiller's Abortion Mill

When I was a teenager, I read a book by Jesuit John Powell "Abortion, the Silent Holocaust" which deeply affected me. Now political cartoonist and commentator, John Francis Borra has a stunning post on his blog Veritatis which draws the parallel between the Nazi Extermination Camps, and their crematorium, and those of the late George Tiller. YES he had a cremetorium too. Borra along with Troy Newman of Operation Rescue wants to purchase Tiller's abortion mill and transform it to a memorial museum to the 60,000 babies he murdered there.

I hope it will bring hope and healing to those who suffered abortions, and sleepless nights to those who have been pro-abortion or just plain indifferent to such a travesty as 50 million Americans murdered since 1973.

The end of abortion in Witchita:Tiller's mill to close permanently

Wichita, KS - A statement has been released by attorneys for the Tiller family stating that Women's Health Care Services will permanently close.
"We are thankful that Tiller's clinic will not reopen and thankful that Wichita is now abortion-free. It is our sincere prayer that threats to open another third-trimester abortion clinic in Kansas will not come to fruition so that the healing process for this state and community can begin," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
"This is a bittersweet moment for us at Operation Rescue. We have worked very hard for this day, but we wish it would have come through the peaceful, legal channels that we were pursuing. We believe we were very close to seeing disciplinary action taken against Tiller's license that would have closed this clinic through due process," said Newman.
An Operation Rescue staff person received two letters last week from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts dated June 1, 2009, informing her that her complaints against the late George R. Tiller and his employee, abortionist Shelley Sella were still open and the investigations still pending. The letters were automatically generated prior to Tiller's death.
Operation Rescue later confirmed with the Board that the Sella investigation will continue, while the Tiller portion of the investigation will now be closed. In addition, the eleven-count petition recently made public by the KSBHA against Tiller for allegedly violating the requirement that there be a second unaffiliated physician referral for post-viability abortions will also be closed.
"At the time of his death, the KSBHA had already taken the first steps to revoke Tiller's medical license. Notice that these additional cases were proceeding is another indication that we were very close to seeing some kind of disciplinary action," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "The legal channels we were employing were working and are continuing to work in the case of Shelley Sella."
The complaints referred to in the KSBHA letters centered on an abortion patient who suffered substantial complications from a late-term abortion she received at Tiller's Women's Health Care Services in September, 2008. Both Tiller and Sella participated in her abortion. The victim's name is being withheld to protect her privacy. [Read more.]
"Since the woman involved suffered life-threatening injuries, issues involving Sella's participation in this botched abortion must still be addressed by the Board," said Newman.

"Operation Rescue will continue to press forward with it national campaign to show the truth about abortion with our fleet of Truth Trucks. We will continue to work to stop tax-funded abortions, and expose abortion industry wrongdoing around the nation," said Newman. "There is more than enough work for us to do. The truth about abortion must continue to be told until the entire country is abortion-free."

For those of us who have lost children before birth, we often long for some kind of ceremony, a funeral of some kind to lay our beloved child to rest. Tiller offered this to families who had just paid him to perform partial birth abortions on their child, right in his mill.
Somehow this child Tess was deemed unworthy of life, yet here are her parents posing with her mutilated body. They sent these photos to a pro-lifer who failed to talk the mom out of the abortion, but did leave her adddress with the couple.

Of course, thanks to the liberals, we have anything but reasonable courts now.

He begged for 'no sirens or lights'when the ambulance finally picked the dying woman up at his mill. He didn't want the prolife protesters outside to be alerted that his death toll was rising. Tiller murderer not inolved in mainstream prolife movement

Roeder did some jail time for his refusal to comply with DMV required liscence plate. He was part of the Minnesota Freeman, an anti-goverment group which has tangled with law enforcement. BUT his only link to the prolife movement is two comments he left on Operation Rescue's website. He also has a history of mental illness, according to his ex-wife.
"As has been the case with most previous incidents of abortion-related violence, Roeder appears to have an affiliation with extremist political groups but not with the mainstream pro-life movement."
Two incidents of deadly violence have taken place this month perpetrated by Muslim extremists: the drive by shooting of a young private at a military recruiting center in Arkansas and the planting of a bomb in a NYC synagogue. Nowhere is the media linking these two events and blaming all Muslims for these events the way they are blaming Bill O'Reilly and prolifers for the murder of George Tiller. Tomorrow President Obama will make an address to Muslims from Egypt. I doubt he will touch upon these acts of violence, denouncing them the way he denounced the murder of Tiller.
We must not back down and allow Tilller's murder to taint our 30 years of peaceful, prayerful protest and untold efforts on behalf of pregnant women in crisis with his blood.

Donohue defends Bill O'Reilly

SCAPEGOATING O’REILLY

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a story in today’s New York Times that details how some of Bill O’Reilly’s critics are trying to blame him for the death of Dr. George Tiller:

In all of Bill O’Reilly’s denunciations of Dr. George Tiller, he never once called for anyone to even post his address on the web, never mind call for his death. Yet O’Reilly is being blamed for Tiller’s murder. If O’Reilly’s critics had any sense of decency, or fairness, they would have long condemned what Hustler king Larry Flynt once said about the Fox News Network personality.

On August 5, 2003, Flynt launched a National Prayer Day, calling for O’Reilly’s death. Flynt asked God “to afflict Bill O’Reilly with a brain aneurysm that will lead to his slow and painful death. O, Lord, may his blood vessels bulge out of his head and explode without mercy.”

To my knowledge, none of O’Reilly’s foes have ever damned Flynt for this despicable comment. They therefore have zero moral capital to lash out at O’Reilly for his criticisms of a man who proudly took the lives of over 60,000 children.

THE POLITICS OF TILLER’S DEATH

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented on the death of Dr. George Tiller:

The Catholic League unequivocally condemns the killing of serial killer, Dr. George Tiller. As I said on the CBS Evening News, “We have to get the message out that life means we have to respect all life, including somebody as bad as Dr. Tiller was.” Unfortunately, his death has already occasioned a highly political response from his allies.

From what we know of the suspect, Scott Roeder, the ex-con fits the profile of a deranged man. Yet there are those who are already trying to pin the blame on others. Andrew Sullivan and the Daily Kos have fingered Bill O’Reilly and are running a video of O’Reilly’s past denunciations of Tiller. Worse than this irresponsible accusation is the hypocrisy of the Daily Kos: above the O’Reilly video is an advertisement for an upcoming interview on C-Span2 with Bill Ayers, the urban terrorist who is a hero in some left-wing circles.

Others are busy collectivizing the guilt. Kim Gandy, president of the National Organization for Women, refers to “those who are behind this murder,” suggesting that this is part of a pro-life cabal. Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, also blames “individuals” for Tiller’s death. Similarly, Dr. Warren Hern, a late-term abortionist from Colorado, said Tiller’s death was the result of “a fascist movement in this country.”

Perhaps the ultimate politicization is the decision by U.S. Attorney Eric Holder ordering federal marshals to protect “other appropriate people and facilities around the nation.” Thus does Holder feed the frenzy of the pro-abortion industry that what happened to Tiller is the work of the pro-life community. We will closely monitor these developments.

The Right Response to Dr. Tiller's Death
Hello Pro-life Friend:
As you know, abortionist George Tiller is dead.

First, we should grieve for him that he did not have an opportunity to properly prepare his soul to face his Maker.(maybe he did, we have no way of knowing) Unless some miracle happened, he left this life with his hands drenched with the innocent blood of tens of thousands of babies that he murdered. Surely there will be a dreadful accounting for what he has done.
It now falls to pro-life activists like you and me to stand strong and unflinching in the face of the unjust criticism we will now endure because of his killing. And so I turn my attention to the attacks that will follow his death.
We must use this as a "teaching moment;" a chance for "dialogue" with our fellow Americans concerning this terrific holocaust of the unborn. In that light, I am going to speak clearly and without compromise. I beg you to read this entire letter, and to then watch the video I filmed.
Let us be clear: George Tiller was a mass murderer. He routinely killed innocent children who were "viable." For the unlearned, that means that those babies could live outside the womb on their own. He specialized in killing "handicapped" children whose parents decided that they were not fit to live. He even offered photographs of the dead children and baptisms for the victims that fell under his knife.
According to God's laws, and the laws that govern how we protect the innocent in times of peace, George Tiller was one of the most evil men on the planet; every bit as vile as the Nazi war criminals who were hunted down, tried, and sentenced after they participated in the "legal" murder of the Jews that fell into their hands.
I write all of these words with surgical precision to shore up the more timid elements of the pro-life movement. Pro-life leaders are already falling over themselves to exclaim, "We are peaceful! We deplore this violence!"
Of course we are peaceful; that is why this horrific shooting in a church has immediately garnered national attention. It is precisely because we are peaceful that Dr. Tiller's killing sticks out like a huge wart on an otherwise flawless complexion. If abortionists were gunned down every week, it would gather no more attention than crack dealers who are gunned down every week by fellow drug dealers.
For those surprised by my words, let me tell you exactly why I am using such clear and unflinching rhetoric.Here is what is about to happen: President Obama has already relayed his "shock." The arch proponents of child killing such as Planned Parenthood, the National Organization of Women, NARAL, and a host of other enemies of children are going to blame the pro-life movement for Dr. Tiller's death.
These child killers, and their allies in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill, will attempt to browbeat the pro-life movement into surrendering our most effective weapons in this battle:
our rhetoric, our actions, and our images.
Concerning rhetoric, they will blame those of us who call abortion "murder" and say that it is this highly charged rhetoric that inspires people to "take the law into their own hands."
Concerning actions, they will say that our protests and vigils and sit-ins are responsible for the shooting.
Concerning images, they will whine that the pictures of babies murdered at the hands of Tiller and other abortionists incite people to acts of violence.
All of these accusations are lies.
Beyond that, these foolish accusations fly in the face of equally radical rhetoric, images, and images in the civil rights movement, the suffragette movement, and the abolitionist movement. If Dr. Martin Luther King had followed the advice of the timid in his day, President Obama would still be riding in the back of the bus.
Simply put: pro-lifers must not flinch, waver, or in any way alter our course in our epic struggle to make child killing illegal again.
Our rhetoric must bear witness to the truth: abortion is murder. Abortion is the brutal slaughter of innocent human beings; a vile, demonic murder of a human being made in the image of God. Those "doctors" like George Tiller who slay the innocent are hired assassins whose hands are covered with blood. As the sacred Scriptures say: "Cursed is he who receives a bribe to strike down an innocent person."
Our actions must be equal to this crime: we must protest with vigorous (yet peaceful) actions such as have been used by every social revolution since America's birth. The easiest picture to have is that of the civil rights activists of the 1960s. They held "illegal" marches, freedom rides, and "sit-ins" at lunch counters; they were met with water canons, dogs, police brutality, arrests, and jail. If we are going to end child killing, we must unflinchingly adopt the strategies of heroes past.
Our images must simply reflect the truth. We must continue to show the victims' bodies that we have pulled out of dumpsters; we must not retreat a single inch from showing the decapitated heads of little boys and girls, the arms and legs that were suctioned or carved out of their mothers wombs; we must paint the picture of sewers and landfills being used as unholy graves for these holy victims.
In the days following Dr. Tillers killing, every pro-abortion advocate in the country will howl that Tiller's death is the fault of the pro-life movement's rhetoric, actions, and images. We must not fear, nor flinch, nor waver on any front.
Our mission is to end the legalized killing of the unborn from conception until natural birth. In this epic struggle - this "war" between the "culture of death" and the "culture of life" - there are going to be unforeseen crises and difficulties. Dr. Tiller's death is one such unforeseen moment.
However, we must not allow the forces of death to use this moment to glorify their heinous acts. Rather, we must use Dr. Tiller's death as a "teaching moment" to pull the veil away from the insidious murder that is happening every day, every hour, in abortion mills like Tiller's across the country.
Wherever Mr. Tiller's soul is right now - I know he agrees.
Be strong, be brave, and be unflinching in the coming days. We must defend the babies in the face of the death of their killer.

George Tiller murdered on his way into church

No readers of my blog would consider me who approved of the action of George Tiller. However, as a pro-lifer I cannot condone the fact that he was was shot and killed on his way to his Reformed Lutheran Church Sunday morning. Violence only begets violence. I pray that Tiller had a moment to repent of his grievous sins before meeting the Just Judge.

Dobson, Ph.D., issued the following statement Sunday on the slaying of late-term abortionist George Tiller:"We are shocked by the murder of George Tiller, and we categorically condemn the act of vigilantism and violence that took his life. America has from its foundation respected the rule of law, by which every citizen is guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those constitutional rights are forfeited only when crimes have been committed, and the perpetrator is charged and found guilty by a jury of his or her peers in a court of law.
"Tiller recently faced serious charges related to the killing of babies in violation of the law, by the most grotesque procedures administered without anesthetics or compassion. We profoundly regretted the outcome of his legal case, believing the doctor had the blood of countless babies on his hands. Nevertheless, he was acquitted by the court and declared "not guilty" in the eyes of the law. That is our system, and we honor it.
"Our condolences are extended to the Tiller family. The person or persons responsible for his death should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Joe Schiedler from the Pro-life Action League has a personal memory of George Tiller.
The Pro-Life Action League released the following statement today regarding the death of late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller:"We deplore the killing of George Tiller on Sunday morning," said Joseph M. Scheidler, national director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League."It has always been my philosophy that we convert abortionists," said Scheidler. "As activists committed to saving lives, we vigorously oppose violence."Scheidler once shared a taxi with Dr. Tiller as both were headed from the airport in New Orleans to the National Abortion Federation Convention. "Tiller apparently recognized me, but did not recall that I was a pro-life activist. He assumed I was another abortionist attending the conference," said Scheidler. "He enthusiastically extolled the value of the ultrasound in performing abortions, and invited me to visit his clinic in Wichita."The following day Scheidler attended Tiller's presentation on the use of ultrasound. By then the doctor had realized that Scheidler was in the opposition camp, and refused to proceed with his presentation until Scheidler left the room."Having sat and talked with George Tiller, I probably feel a little more connection with him than many other pro-lifers might," said Scheidler. "I am adamantly opposed to what he did for a living. But I believe that anyone can come to the truth. Tiller deserved the chance to turn away from the evil of abortion. The NCR Blog has a list of pro-life reactions to this event for which ALL prolife activists will be punished and painted with a broad brush of violence, as we are in this British newspaper, and calls for us to be rounded up and inmprisoned have already reached a crescendo. No longer will we be allowed to pray in front of abortion mills, now as under the Clinton administration, those with rosary beads who pray for women killing their children, will be considered dangerous co-conspirators with Tiller's killer.
We will all pay the price for misguided actions of one isolated man. Deacon Keith Fournier likens Tiller's murder to St Peter severing Malchus' ear in a futile attempt to save Jesus from arrest in his piece in Catholic Online. "The sword belongs in its' sheath!

We reject intentional abortion because every procured abortion is the killing of a member of our human family. The dignity of that little human person in the first home of the whole human race cries out for changing the unjust approach to giving protected status to intentional abortion in America. However, this dignity is present in all human persons, even those with whom we disagree and those whose actions we decry."
Operation Rescue is predictably under fire because Tiller murder suspect Scott Roeder once left a comment on their blog. Here is their statement:
Scott Roeder has never been a member, contributor, or volunteer with Operation Rescue. Mr. Roeder may have posted to our open blog web site, as have thousands of members of the public, including those with pro-abortion views, but he is not affiliated with this organization.

We deplore the criminal actions with which Mr. Roeder is accused.

The pro-life ethic is to value all human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Operation Rescue has diligently and successfully worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see to it that abortionists around the nation are brought to justice. Without due process, there can be no justice.

In spite of these horrific events, we remain dedicated to working through all peaceful and legal means available to bring an end to the killing of innocent children through abortion.
George Tiller was cleared from murder charges in the death of 19 year old Christin Gilbert, a woman who died a slow, painful death after her mother brought her in for a late term abortion in his clinic. He didn't care about whether Christin lived or died. She had Down syndrome.

SEBELIUS’ POLITICAL KICKBACK

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, nominated to be the next secretary of health and human services, vetoed a bill yesterday that would have placed new restrictions on third trimester abortions. Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke to this issue today:

“The veto by Sebelius was a political kickback to Dr. George Tiller, the infamous abortion doctor who specializes in killing kids just before they are born (and in some cases when they are mostly born). It was also a clear rejection of women’s rights.

“Tiller is a long-time donor and friend of Sebelius, having greased her with so much dough that she can’t even remember how much he has forked up. All along he was buying protection from lawsuits, and yesterday he got what he wanted. Sebelius, like all pro-abortion Catholics, says she wants to reduce abortions, yet what she just did was to shield abortionists like Tiller from publicly stating why it is necessary to kill a kid after the 22nd week of pregnancy. Now he can go about his death trade willy nilly, without any accountability. Moreover, the bill would have allowed a woman to sue if she believed the abortionist lied to her about the need for a late-term abortion. So much for women’s rights.

“Sebelius seems incapable of shame. She waited until the 11th hour yesterday to deliver her body blow: she vetoed the bill at 4:45 p.m. on the 10th and last day before the clock ran out. And President Obama wants to put a person like this in charge of the nation’s healthcare? It just doesn’t get any dirtier than this.”

Opposition to Sebellius growing; vote delayed

- Opposition to the nomination of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services continues to grow as the Senate is flooded with calls, faxes, and e-mails from grassroots campaigns led by an increasing number of conservative, pro-family groups.
This opposition exploded when Operation Rescue made public, and the Associated Press reported the fact that Sebelius had grossly underreported to the Senate Finance Committee the amount of financial support she had received from controversial late-term abortionist George Tiller.
"We have been urging our supporters to call, e-mail, and fax their Senators, and I know several other national groups have been doing the same. It is our understanding that thousands and thousands of people have been voicing their concerns that Gov. Sebelius' extreme views on abortion, and her lack of candor about them, make her unfit to head the Department of Health and Human Services," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
After a surprisingly split vote in the Finance Committee on Tuesday, Sebelius' vote in the full Senate has been delayed, and may not occur before Wednesday of next week.
Just prior to this week's committee vote, Sen. Jon Kyl blasted Sebelius for her support of "comparative effectiveness," which means that costs of treatment are considered above the interests of the patient. A "comparative effectiveness" policy would mean that patients who need ceertain treatments could be denied them in order to save money. Sen. Kyl expressed concern over Sebelius' "lack of commitment" to patient safeguards.
"The offensive policy of selecting who lives and who dies using a financial equation is a logical offshoot of Sebelius' extreme views on abortion, and demonstrates an overall lack of concern for human life," said Newman. "She supports aborting healthy babies in the latest stages of pregnancy, so it isn't much of a leap for her to decide that some people are not deserving of certain medical treatments that could save their lives. This is really a Mengle-esque approach to health care with far-reaching implications, and further illustrates why she is unfit for the job at HHS."

To disclose the entirety of the connection between herself and Tiller, the Governor needs to reveal the total political dollars provided by Tiller and his PAC to any organization which used those funds in a state campaign for the offices of Attorney General, Governor, or state legislative post of candidates that the Governor endorsed or directed the funds to be so used. If confirmed, Sebelius will have direct control over millions of tax dollars that will be doled out to the abortion industry nationwide at her discretion and the nation deserves to know her full affiliations with the industry.

Wichita, KS - Letters from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts have been received by two women notifying them that their complaints against late-term abortionist George Tiller remain open and are progressing through the system.
One woman, referred to by Operation Rescue only as Shaye, received a letter from the Board concerning her complaint that Tiller's staff intentionally falsified her sonogram measurements to make her baby appear younger in order to avoid having to comply with the Kansas late-term abortion law.
Shaye's experience was part of an undercover investigation conducted by Operation Rescue and has been fully documented in an online report and video. (Click here to view.)
Another woman, who is referred to publicly as "Patient S." received notice that information she recently sent to the KSBHA concerning her botched abortion experience was added to a complaint filed earlier by Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue.
Patient S. suffered life-threatening abortion complications at Tiller's abortion clinic, including a high fever and respiratory and cardiac arrest during the abortion. She was transported to the hospital in Tiller's private vehicle, where he told her to keep her IV bag down so the protesters would not see it. She also suffered a staph infection on her face due to the apparent reuse of a dirty oxygen mask. (Read more.)
These complaints are in addition to the 11-count petition against Tiller made public by the KSBHA moments after "not guilty" verdicts were returned in Tiller's criminal case.
"Tiller's troubles are far from over, and his medical license remains at risk. With the changes at the Board, we are encouraged by news that these cases are moving forward," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "With so many accusations of wrong-doing against him, we have every hope that Tiller will eventually be held accountable for his actions

Killer Tiller may stil llose medical lisence

"Just after a jury in Sedgwick County, Kansas, returned not guilty verdicts in the criminal case against late-term abortionist George Tiller, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts released to the public a petition it filed in December listing eleven allegations against Tiller's license.

According to a statement released by the KSBHA, "Violations alleged include performing an abortion on a fetus that was viable without having a documented referral from another physician not legally or financially affiliated with him; unprofessional or dishonorable conduct or professional incompetency; and commitment of acts likely to deceive, defraud or harm the public."

The KSBHA also indicated that the case they have filed against Tiller is independent from the criminal charges and will proceed in its own merits.

Tiller could have his medical license revoked, suspended, or dramatically restricted, depending on the outcome of the Board's determination."

It's not the justice that we had hoped for, but if he is at least put out of the baby killing business, many lives will be spared.
Ir reminds me of my OB asking if me if Bill Baird's abortion mill closing was the answer to my prayers (they shared a building and I told my OB I had picketed the building before my pregnancy). "Not entirely, since I'm praying for his conversion, but it's a step in the right direction".
