The Obamanation is seeking informants

In a post titled "Facts Are Stubborn Things" that is quickly generating nationwide controversy, Obama's staff are asking for people to turn in anyone who says anything "fishy" about the pro-abortion health plan.
With the abortion funding and insurance mandates for abortion that are in the bill, and the Obama's administration and pro-abortion groups insisting that pro-abortion components are not present, that could wind up at the top of the list.
"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end-of-life care," the White House says. "These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain e-mails or through casual conversation."
"Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an e-mail or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to
flag@whitehouse.gov," the Obama web site says.
I'm saving Counterstrike trouble, and sending them my own links. Why don't you all turn yourselves in as troublemakers and fry their server?
Here's my email text:
Title,
"I am turning myself in as a pro-life anti-health care miscreant blogger"My blogs are Cause of Our Joy,and Causa Nostrae Laetitiae.
I stand for the sanctity of human life, and as a Catholic, oppose the health care which would deny my 74 year old mother her chemotherapy, and my daughter with Down syndrome her health care.
I also oppose the Capp provision for abortions to be paid by my tax dollars.
I will fight your health care agenda with every stroke of my keyboard.
If you send me trouble, my readers will know, a copy of this email is on my blog.

Leticia Velasquez

I'm not surprised that this should happen, just that it happened in Obama's first term. I thought he'd wait till we were fully under his spell before compiling an enemies list, however, with his popularity plummeting in the polls, Obama has resorted to Chicagoland tactics; seek and destroy your enemies.

Abortion is NOT health care

from Focus on the Family
A key U.S. House committee voted down an amendment late Friday that would have prohibited taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions under health-care reform.

The measure, offered by Reps. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., and Joseph Pitts, R-Pa., failed on a 27-31 vote.

Without such a ban, government and private health plans may be required to offer abortion coverage.

Ashley Horne, federal issues analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said President Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress are not keeping their promises to reduce abortions.

"They have shot down every single attempt in both the House and the Senate to make sure that abortion funding is kept out of the health-care proposal," she explained.

Horne said the language in the health-care reform plan may be confusing, because it does not specifically mention "abortion" coverage. But the rejection of pro-life amendments reveals what the bill truly means.

"The reality is, if this proposal passes, there will be unlimited funding of abortions," she said.
If the bill doesn't prohibit funding abortion, then it is a thinly disguised attempt at passing FOCA.
We will be paying for abortions with our tax dollars.

Congressman Bishop has a rowdy Town Hall Meeting on Long Island

Read about the rowdy dissenters at Congressman Bishop's Town Hall Meeting on Reuters.

I wonder if any of my friends from Long Island were there.

I have a tradition of making Catholic Congressman Bishop uncomfortable in Town Meetings when it comes to life issues. And at Mass when he received communion at Sacred Hearts in Southampton after voting for Partial Birth Abortion. Read about it here. Notice the 'anonymous' comments from either him or his employees.
Bishop has refused to meet with his constituents since this meeting in the video below.
"There is no point in meeting with my constituents and (to) listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation," he said."
Read the entire story on UPI.

He doesn't deserve a 'happy' meeting till he stops killing babies, either though abortion or denial of health care. I'm arranging a meeting with Cong Joe Courtney up here in CT to make sure the health plan which would deny Christina and my mother with Stage 4 cancer their treatment.

Hope you will join me. Drop a comment here if you do, I'd love to hear your stories.

Rep Joe Courtney defends his lack of Town Hall meetings

Dear Leticia, (my comments in red)

Thank you for contacting me regarding health insurance reform. I appreciate your comments and having the benefit of your views.

Our representative democracy is built on the premise that all citizens must have the opportunity to have their voices heard. As your representative in Congress, it is absolutely critical that I hear from a diverse cross-section of the constituents for whom I serve. That is why I have made communicating with my constituents, soliciting their feedback, and keeping them informed of developments in Congress a top priority.

For example, I have hosted or participated in more than fifteen public events across eastern Connecticut since January, many of which focused on health insurance reform and economic recovery, which I believe are not mutually exclusive in many cases. These events have included public town hall meetings, "Congress on your Corner" events where I make myself and my staff available at a publicly accessible location, roundtable discussions about health care, among other events. In most cases, these events have been publicized either through press advisories and media listings, notification through my weekly "E-Newsletter," or posted on the "Events" section of my website, http://courtney.house.gov/.

None of these were held this summer recess.

I have also made sure that the public has access to the resources they need to be informed about the bill and access information about the long-overdue changes it proposes to make to our health insurance system. For example, the proposed draft of health insurance reform legislation has been posted on my website since July 1, 2009, followed by a section-by-section analysis of the bill on July 8, 2009. Around that time, I announced the availability of these documents both through an email to subscribers of my E-Newsletter and to the media through a press release, which was then published in various local papers. Further, the text of the bill, as it was officially introduced, was made available on my website July 18, 2009, and again I notified the public of the availability of these resources through an e-newsletter and press release.
I can read the documents anywhere, I wanted to voice my opinion and you dodged my questions.

During the August District Work Period I was invited to participate in a town hall meeting sponsored by a third party organization. Was it SEIU by any chance? Why can't you name it?
It was a set-up like Obama's events. Puhleeze!!!!
I was therefore unable to personally advertise and promote this event due to guidelines listed in the U.S. House Ethics Manuel in which it specifically prohibits my office from using any of my "Member's Representational Allowance" to promote any event with a political organization, which this organization is.
Oh, so posting it on your website, and sending me an email alert were too expensive, right?
The event was posted in local newspapers and advertised by the group.Which group?
The event was widely attended by over 350 supporters and opponents of H.R. 3200 and I was pleased with the productive conversation that was had. I apologize if you were unable to attend, but I look forward to holding similar meetings in the near future. I will join the SEIU and that way I'll be sure to get my invitation.

In addition, in response to the overwhelming number of questions my office has received about H.R. 3200, I created a special section on my website, http://www.courtney.house.gov/choice , which is linked directly from my main page, to address some of the most frequently asked questions about the House version of the bill.
Spin spin spin
This page, available since July 18, 2009, provides a link to the bill text, up-to-date information from the three House committees that approved the bill, and additional information. In addition, visitors can find information about some of the claims being made about the bill being circulating in the media and on the Internet. You mean the 'false witness' sites like mine have been spreading about death panels and abortion funding.

Despite the intense public focus on the health reform debate this summer, despite the heat I have been hiding from the truth is that we still have a long way to go before any bill is finalized in the House and Senate. As we move forward with this important debate, I look forward to continuing to listen to the feedback of those on both sides of the health insurance reform discussion, as well as holding additional public events on the topic. Because I want to make sure that you have all the resources you need to share your views with me, I encourage you to take the following steps:

o Stay informed through my E-Newsletter. On a regular basis, I send out email updates on legislative developments, occasional notifications of public events, surveys where I solicit direct your feedback, and other helpful information. Under House rules, you must sign up to receive these regular updates, and can do so here: http://courtney.house.gov/EmailSignup/.

You never informed me about the union sponsored town hall.
Will you actualy post town hall meetings on this site?

o Contact me to express your views. I'm sending him this post This year, I have received thousands of letters, emails and calls on health insurance reform expressing a wide range of views on the topic. Bet I know which side was most vocal! You can call or send a letter to one of my offices to express your thoughts on the issue, or send me an email through my website, http://courtney.house.gov/Contact/.

o Attend a public event. Without a union card, are you serious? Since January 2009, I have held over a dozen public events focused on health care alone. These events are opportunities for constituents to share their views and hear what is on their neighbor's minds. Information about these events is often note, not always distributed through my E-Newsletter - so I want to again encourage you to sign up for that important resource - or can be found at http://courtney.house.gov/Calendar/.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please be assured that I appreciate your views and that I take the concerns and opinions of those I serve into careful consideration but Nancy Pelosi is the one I obey before every vote I cast in the United States Congress as your elected representative. I promise you that I will always listen respectfully to those with whom I may not agree, and I can only ask that same courtesy in return.

Sincerely,

JOSEPH COURTNEY
Member of Congress

Pro-lifers becoming Obama's worst nightmare

from David Bereit at 40 Days for Life

Last week, you and more than 36,000 other people
participated in what the Washington Post described as
a "massive webcast" -- the historic Stop the Abortion
Mandate web event.

The replay of that inspiring webcast is online at:

http://www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com

More than 100,000 letters and e-mails have already
been sent to Congress
because of your actions in
response to the webcast and the actions of others
associated with organizations making up the Stop the
Abortion Mandate coalition.

Reporting on the webcast, U.S. News & World Report
documented: "In the last few days, Christian
conservatives have quickly organized themselves into a
coalition opposing the inclusion of abortion coverage
in President Obama's proposed public healthcare plan
."

The Washington Post reported: "If the organization and
strident words during the webcast are any indication,
the anti-abortion tide that is rising against
President Obama's health care plan may shape up to be
a sizable force in coming weeks."

Bottom-line: YOU ARE MAKING AN IMPACT, and we have a
real shot at stopping this abortion mandate!

But the battle is far from over.

**BREAKING NEWS**

Last night, the House Energy and Commerce Committee
passed a pro-abortion amendment which would force
abortion into the public plan and force YOU to fund
abortion through your tax dollars.

After passage of the pro-abortion amendment, the
Committee then went on to defeat a bi-partisan
pro-life amendment.

Today, there will be another vote when an amendment
will be offered in committee to prevent taxpayer
funding of abortion.

This amendment could be the last chance to prevent the
abortion mandate before the vote goes to floor of the
House of Representatives.

And, if you've been following the news, you know that
things are changing almost hourly here in Washington.

Health care "compromises" are being proposed that
would do nothing to stop the abortion mandate and
there is a slim possibility that a full vote in the
Senate could happen prior to their recess next week.

With all the confusion and rapid changes, one thing is
clear -- this abortion mandate must be stopped. Your
action is needed TODAY to stop the largest abortion
expansion since Roe v. Wade!

**ACTION ITEM**

Even if you have already sent letters and e-mails and
made calls, it is URGENT that you call the Washington
office and district office of your Representative and
two Senators TODAY with one clear message:

"KEEP ABORTION OUT OF HEALTH CARE! Any health care
proposal or bill MUST explicitly and permanently
prohibit any use of taxpayer funds for abortion or
health plans that pay for abortion, and MUST
explicitly and permanently prohibit abortion from
being a mandated service."

Look up the phone numbers for your Senators:

http://www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com/senators

Look up the phone numbers for your Representative:

http://www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com/representatives

The phone number for the switchboard of Congress is:
202-224-3121

Please make these calls today if at all possible --
countless lives are at stake!

Divorce is lethal to more than children's hearts

We know that God hates divorce. It says so in Scripture. We know also that the Catholic Church for that reason has forbidden divorce. Isn't that enough for us?
When Judith Wasserstein wrote "The Unexpected Legacy of Divorce" she was surprised to find in her longitudinal study that the long term affect of divorce was grown children who had never recovered.
Still the divorce rates of Catholics failed to differ significantly from the rest of the population. Now a study of 8,000 subjects from the Journal of Health and Behavior says that divorce kills us sooner.
"Losing a marriage or becoming widowed or divorced is extremely stressful," Waite said. "It's financially, sometimes, ruinous. It's socially extremely difficult. What's interesting is if people have done this and remarried, we still see, in their health, the scars or marks -- the damage that was done by this event."

I wonder if anyone is listening out there.

Does Lowe's support the gay agenda like Home Depot does? Now Home Depot has come to their senses!

UDATE: the boycott of Home Depot has officially been suspended. Because it worked.

Home Depot practices reflect change; AFA suspends boycott

September 5, 2013
When AFA called for a boycott of Home Depot three years ago because of its support of homosexual activist groups, I knew we were taking on a huge task. After all, Home Depot is a huge company. But I knew we had a lot of friends who would stand with us.
Now, I'm glad to report to you that we are suspending the boycott of Home Depot. Aftermonitoring the company for several months, AFA is satisfied the company has withdrawn its major financial contributions to gay activist groups and events.
I truly believe this is a direct result of your willingness to become involved. In fact, more than 750,000 people signed the Boycott Home Depot Pledge.
Although Home Depot has made changes, we will continue to monitor their behavior. We suspect Home Depot will publicly deny having made changes, but their actions speak louder than words.
Your AFA will continue to challenge major U.S. companies to remain neutral in the culture wars rather than to use their resources to promote anti-family issues.
Thank you for standing with us. Our efforts are making a difference!
Sincerely,

Tim

Below was the email answer I received from Lowe's Home Improvement.
As a response, I spent about $300 there buying molding for Gabbi's new bedroom. The salespeople were more attentive and extremely helpful.
I noticed that Lowe's has a much larger, more upscale inventory of the items women like; draperies, lighting, carpets, appliances, flooring, decor items. The lamps in particular are stunning.
I am deciding between three lovely Tiffany style ceiling fixtures for my entry foyer/breakfast nook, all are under $100. Help me choose. Which one do you like?
I will be returning to Lowe's soon to finish my shoppping. I just want to bring Gabbi along to select her ceiling fan, and ask her opinion as the selection is amazing.
I owe Home Depot a favor; I have been a loyal customer since becoming a homeowner in 1995, but their support of the homosexual agenda has given me the impetus to find a better store.

Dear Leticia Velasquez,
Thank you for your interest in the community organizations that we support.
The primary philanthropic areas Lowe's supports are K-12 public school initiatives and not-for-profit, community-based organizations.
We believe that the communities we serve should be the primary beneficiaries of our charitable contributions and therefore work with the appropriate community organizations to make this happen.
Some of the organizations we work with are Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, and Rebuilding Together. For a complete listing, please visit our community website at http://www.lowes.com/community.

If you have any additional questions about our charitable contributions, please contact us at community@lowes.com for more details.
Thank you,

A Letter to Lowe's Home Improvement

I live nearer to Home Depot than to Lowe's. I love to shop at Home Depot, and found the people who work there very friendly. But I won't be spening any money there, since I read this from One Million Moms.
Here is a letter I sent to Lowe's. I'll post their response.

Dear Lowe's,

I was about to do major home repairs(about $10,000 worth) using products from Home Depot, after a washing machine flooded my home. One Million Moms told me in an email that Home Depot not only sponsored multiple gay pride parades, but encouraged children to attend by signing on as a vendor and offering workshops for them at the event.

I am looking for another home improvement company to spend my insurance check. Do you donate to homosexual organizations?

I have hope that their contributions are more family friendly since they are based in NC and all the contributions I see in Google searches seem decent (affordable housing, disease charities, etc).

Here is the information about Home Depot.

Home Depot seeks children at multiple gay pride parades
According to the Nashville Gay Pride website, Home Depot gave over $5,000 to be a major sponsor of its 2009 Gay Pride Festival in June.

But simply financing the event wasn't enough for the big box chain.Home Depot also signed on as a vendor, conducting kid's craft workshops for children via a special booth set up just for them.

To this end, Home Depot is basically encouraging the attendance of children at events which openly expose them to transvestites, cross-dressers, and homosexual activities.

Unfortunately, Home Depot's participation in the Nashville Pride Festival doesn't stand alone. It has also sponsored kid's booths at other gay events in Atlanta, Kansas City, Durham, Portland, and San Diego.

Gay pride events have a long track record for offensive public displays of homosexual conduct.

Obviously, Home Depot is OK with the idea of exposing children to an unhealthy and risky environment. So much so, it is willing to participate in it.

TAKE ACTION

Let Home Depot know you are sickened by their support and approval of children at homosexual events.

If you are a customer, please add an additional personal line to our prepared letter to Home Depot.

After sending your email, make an extra effort to protect children by calling Home Depot personally.

Catholic nurse forced to participate in abortion

"It felt like a horror film unfolding," said Catherina Cenzon-DeCarlo, the Brooklyn nurse who says she was forced to aid an abortion against her will. Now Cenzon-DeCarlo is speaking out, describing the terror she felt as she was asked to sacrifice her religious convictions for the sake of her job.
Catherina Cenzon-DeCarlo, a devout Catholic, says she has been having nightmares and difficulty sleeping
ever since the incident took place on May 24, reports the New York Post.

Trig is the reason why Sarah evokes such vitriol from women

This image is why Sarah felt that for the good of her family she had better step down from the Governorship. Can you blame her? Here is the original photo.
Kevin Burke on NRO has really nailed the cause of the hostility; post abortion trauma/guilt in this article. Trig is the trigger of many painful emotions for women who chose to abort babies with disabilities and without.
"Some of the very personal and often uncharitable criticism of vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her family may have a relationship to the collective grief, shame, and guilt from personal involvement in the abortion of an unborn child. Because abortion is usually a deeply repressed sensitive area of complicated grief, when a news story touches on abortion related issues, the common response is often one of the following:
Avoidance.

Reactive defensiveness, hyper sensitivity, and angry attacks to compensate for the emotional vulnerability this issue surfaces.

Some will recognize in their troubled souls the need to reach out for healing and the hope of reconciliation and peace. "

You can tell he hit the mark from the pitch of the shill hysteria of Wonkette's response. and the comments which follow. These are the hounds of hell in full cry, speaking through the lips of very twisted and wounded people. They attack an innocent little baby boy in their pain, but fail to find relief for their guilt. They need to seek forgiveness and peace in Christ.
Lets pray for their salvation, and that teh beauty of Sarah continues to bring out the ugliness of the left to reveal to the moderates exactly who they are in bed with when they vote for Obama and pro-abortion Congresssmen.
Abortion is no distraction, it's THE central issue of our time, the way slavery was in the Civil War.

Fr Loya takes up for Sarah Palin

Fr Loya discusses Sarah Palin's resignation in terms of Theology of the Body on his show, "A Body of Truth" on Catholic Radio International. He says, "her enemies need to duck" as he applauds her loyalty to her role as wife and mother and says she is now more powerful than ever. Fr Loya is not the only one who admires the spirited Sarah;
Marjorie Dannenfelser, the head of the pro-life women's group Susan B. Anthony List, had nothing but kind words for Palin.
“Sarah Palin has always been an intensely independent woman-- always true to her faith, her family and call to public service. She has provided women with a new political role model, offering a positive example of grace and poise as she deflected the barrage of baseless personal attacks on her family,” she told LifeNews.com.

Sarah evoked visceral reactions from those who have insisted that in order to be successful in politics a woman has to be like a man. Sarah is beautiful, happy and in love with her family and her God. I wish her the best in all her endeavors as she brings a breath of bracing fresh air to the Culture of Death.

Defund Plannned Parenthood amendment vote failed

I learned Thursday night on a nationwide pro-life webcast that U.S Rep. Mike Pence's amendment to cut Planned Parenthood federal funding is going to receive a vote TODAY. The Pence Amendment would cut all Title X funding for Planned Parenthood, which amounts to over a third of their budget.
Please call your Congressman's office ASAP to let him know you want him to vote for Rep. Pence's amendment to defund Planned Parenthood.

UPDATE:
The vote failed because Democrates failed to join Republicans. IF your Democratic Congressman failed to vote for the defunding of Planned Parenthood, ask him or her why they are funding a business which maked milllions a year.
“The right to life is not a partisan issue, it is a moral one. The time has come for this Congress to come together in a bipartisan way to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and to defend the rights of the taxpayer; The time has come to deny any and all federal funding for the Planned Parenthood," Pence added.
The most recent
annual report shows Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, received $350 million in taxpayer dollars from state, local and federal governments."
Here's a challenge from Bill Donohue:
"This is it. We are now at the defining moment. All the chatter about “common ground” on abortion will come to a conclusion today. Will those self-identified anti-abortion Catholic individuals and groups that have abandoned legal strategies to combat abortion take the position that Title X money should not wind up in the pocket of Planned Parenthood? While Title X does not provide funding for abortion, everyone knows that money is fungible: by giving Planned Parenthood Title X funding, it effectively underwrites its abortion clinics. "
Click here to see how your Congressman voted. Joe Courtney of the First District CT voted NO.
He'll be hearing from me.

That's more than a fivefold increase over the previous record of 7,000 participants! The Obama Administration has heard us,calling a special press confernce last night for spin control, a and Congress has postponed the Obamacare vote till after the August recess!!
We are being heard.
Now keep the pressure on!

Listen to a re-broadcast here.

Find a sample email form to send to your Congressman in their district office here.

Write letters to the editor of your local papers on the important point of putting explicit language excluding abortion from Health Care Legislation.

Visit your Congressman over the recess, we must flood their meetings too!

Pray with Fr Frank Pavone for the halting of the biggest expansion of abortion in our time.

Prayer for our Nation’s Health Care Reform
Lord Jesus, you are the Divine Physician,
And the source of all life and health.

Guide our nation at this critical moment,
As our government seeks health care reforms.

Give our elected officials the humility to know
That they are servants, not masters.
Give them the wisdom to realize
That every life has equal value.

Give them the strength to resist the idea
That some lives can be sacrificed to save others
Or that killing the unborn is a part of health care.

Give your people the courage to speak up
And to hold public officials accountable for their actions.

Save us, Lord Jesus, from a culture of death,
And let every reform in our public policy
Be based on the reform of our hearts and minds
In the light of your Gospel,

For you are Lord forever and ever.

Amen.
