Do you want the Latin Mass in your parish?

A blogger called Lumen Gentleman has formed a search engine by which those of us who wish to request the Latin Mass in our parish, across the nation, or across the world can find one another.
If you register, your email will not be given out, but others can send you messages via the database, which you may respond to. I found 8 contacts here on Long Island alone.
Why don't you register, and see how many of us are interested near you? Armed with this knowlege, we could ask our Bishop for a personal parish(Latin Mass only) He said the response has been overwhelming, proving that interest in the Latin Mass is just beginnning to experience a revival. Here's the link.

Where is that wonderful picture from?

Right on! When is it coming to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Along with a return to kneeling, and kneeling pads in some parishs!

The picture is from St. Patrick's Church on Camp Street in New Orleans, Lousiana. The mass is Christmas Midnight Mass and the priestly vestments are loaned from the shrine of Our lady of Prompt Succour on State Street. They are very old (circa 1875) and are embroided with solid gold thread, Father Stanley Klores is the fantastic pastor of St. Patrick's which is also the "proto-cathedral". NOtre Dame Semininarians find refuge at St. Patrick's known for its traditional masses.

I have been waiting patiently for the Latin Mass to come back. I hope the Scranton Diocese goes full tilt with this. I want my children and grandchildren to experience the reverence and love of the true meaning of being a ROMAN CATHOLIC in the LATIN RITE.

Praise Be To God

Liz
It is a much Holier Mass But I do like the Enlish the best because I understand what is going on.
Not meaning to judge but the dress now days going to Mass is not good. shorts no sleeves neck lines lowered. Not what the Blessed Mother wants.
Communion must be taken by mouth and not by hand and we need to get the communion rails back. This much needed.

We're a who would love the broader availability of the Latin Mass in Long Island. Unfortunately, Bishop Murphy has no intention of offering it aside from establishing three "centers" - and we heard that the word from the Chancery is that the translations of the documents were "misinterpreted" making it seem as though Priests would be "forced" to offer the Latin Mass. So, dream on. See you at Pius X. Sigh.

NO NO NO Don't ask for a seperate personel parish!! Don't let them isolate us. The old Mass has been declared equal now, we are not to be pushed aside into 1 parish. If we isolate ourselves the old Mass will die with us. The way to spread the old Mass is to have it in as many parishes as possible and let those under 50 see what it is!! "HAVE IT AND THEY WILL COME!"Dig out your old Saint Joseph Daily Missal brush off the dust and let the young see it.

Here in Austin, Texas, we have been blessed for many years with a Latin mass. I first attended at St Edwards's Univ., then it was offered at another small parish, and now, finally, the Latin mass is being offered in our Cathedral. It is a beautiful mass, our priest is a Jesuit who is truly holy, loves Our Lady, and inspires us all. I also was introduced here in Austin to the Maronite Rite, another rich heritage of our Church which I had never known existed. We are truly blessed here in Austin with wonderful orthodox priests who are committed to our Pope and to traditional church teachings. And to those who think they can't understand the Latin mass, I would like to point out that every missal has Latin on one side of the page and whatever language you speak on the other, so you know exactly what is being said and can follow the mass perfectly. I once heard the Latin mass described as the "quiet mass", in contrast to what I call the Hootenanny mass, with bands and loud, unmemorable music played constantly, even during communion when one would like to spend some quiet time reflecting on having received the body and blood of Jesus.

With the return of the Latin Rite, perhaps catholics will become true catholic with the graces received from the true Rite of the Church. Praise God
