Mother Teresa protest moves to next step

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on Day 15 of the protest campaign on behalf of Mother Teresa:

Today I am writing to every Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of New York, the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Diocese of Rockville Centre informing them of our protest demonstration on August 26 outside the Empire State Building on 34th Street and 5th Avenue.
The rally is being held to protest the decision of Anthony Malkin, the owner of the storied building, not to overrule those who have chosen to deny a tribute to Mother Teresa: our request to have the towers shine blue and white, the colors of her congregation, on August 26th, the 100th anniversary of her birthday, was denied without explanation. Yet the same persons who chose to stiff Mother Teresa decided to honor the Chinese Communist revolution last year, even though 77 million innocent men, women and children were murdered under Mao Zedong. By contrast, the U.S. Postal Service is honoring Mother Teresa with a commemorative stamp.

Everyone is being asked to pass the word about our demonstration and to join us that evening. They are also being asked to write to Anthony Malkin.

Bishops slam Catholic Health Association for support of Obamacare

And in "Setting the Record Straight," as the document is titled, they affirm their teaching authority and say that dissent from episcopal teaching among Catholics, such as the endorsement of the health care reform by the Catholic Health Association, resulted "in confusion and a wound to Catholic unity."

The Catholic Health Association (CHA) came out in support of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) during the heated debate over the bill, despite the USCCB's criticism of the measure for its funding of abortion, lack of conscience protection, and other serious flaws.

The dissenting Catholics who supported Obamacare have finally been called to task. Well done, USCCB!

63% of Americans want Obamacare Repealed

This is the will of the people, Obama, are you listening?
Of course not, you are deciding what else you can impose on us, like a Supreme Court Justice who is above the law. Who uses a relativistic view of compassion to decide her cases, no wait, she's never been a judge, so we don't have ANY IDEA what she'll be using to inform her decisions on the bench. We only know that you like her philosophy, which is enough reason to vote against her nomination.

Censorship in Norfold Va schools

Try and deny the horrors of slavery or the Holocaust and this would be the MSM headlines. But when two educators gave children in elementary school a small fetal model and described the developing baby in the womb (not abortion just fetal development) they were dismissed. A simple anatomy lesson. PLanned Parenthood gives extremely offensive and graphic anatomy lessons funded by our tax dollars. and no one complains.
What is wrong with children seeing these adorable little baby dolls? We had one for years and Bella used to play with him. We called him "Freddie the fetus". I remember at the Baptism of the daughter of  a large Catholic family, Bella was feeding "Freddie" a cup of milk. A pro-abort woman who was bellyaching about the size of the family who had Baptized their child, observed her and fell silent. And a little child shall lead them. .
What bothers me in this story is the parents reaction to the fetus being shown to their children. If you took a look at the graphic sex and violence they probably permit their children to watch on TV, this fetus is  completely innocuous. Maybe they are post abortive and have guilty consciences.
Parents and other officials at Oakwood Elementary School met for a closed meeting on the matter and were quoted by the Virginian-Pilot expressing disgust at the "human fetus dolls" given to third, fourth, and fifth-grade students, and calling them "entirely inappropriate and unacceptable." Oakwood spokeswoman Elizabeth Thiel Mather told the paper Thursday that the baby figurines were not authorized by the division as instructional materials.

Board member Kirk Houston Sr. reportedly called the tiny models, "Very life like, and it's a pro-life tool," and said that board members were "all pretty dumbfounded" at their distribution.

"As a parent, I choose to teach my children about those things later in life," said one parent. "I did not sign a waiver for my daughter to be given a fetus."

We are approaching a police state, where the truth is suppressed, unless we raise protest over this incident.

New conservative Social Studies standards come from Texas

In the field of education, the surest way to set my blood a boilin' is the mention the words 'revisionist history'. I fell victim to the 'values clarification' agenda way back in the 1970's, and fought it vigorously. In World History, my liberal teacher taught Mao Tse Tung's little red book (the spelling used then) as sacred doctrine. We carried little copies and memorized excerpts from it which were enshrined on the walls, in little stations around the walls of our classroom, like the Stations of the Cross. This was in the late 70's when Mao was starving 28 million of his own people. But not according to Ms Hair (not her real name, she just dressed like a character from the musical with a blond Afro) who told us all year, "there's no hunger in China". Indoctrination, pure and simple. Ms Hair was a pot smoking, lesbian, New Age, card -carrying Communist, whose father was on the school board, giving her immunity, that is until they caught her dealing pot to the students.
Mr Green was another case. He taught European History in Northport High School. Mr Green's course "Great Minds and Monarchs of Europe" should have been called, "Why the Catholic Church is the Enemy of All That is Good". From the Inquisition to the Crusades, the Reformation to Pope Pius X who he accused of collaboration with the Nazis, there was no Catholic left unblamed in Mr Green's class.
Thanks to Mr Green, I became an apologist. I had debated with Ms Hair the virtues of communism for a year, and with Mr Green, I began to do research into the history of the Catholic Church with Jesuit Fr Fagan (real name) in St Philip Neri Parish. Fr Fagan had a great library of books to support my arguments, and I learned about Catholic heroes like Msgr. O'Flaherty the Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican who hid Jews and US airmen to refuge in the Vatican itself right under the noses of the Nazis. Monsignor is immortalized in the wonderful film "The Scarlet and the Black".
So, the liberal members of the Texas Board of Ed have been outvoted and are crying foul. The new curriculum, vitally important because it determines what major Social Studies textbook companies willl print, will more accurately reflect the religious and cultural heritage of the United States. For example it is mentioned that the "separation of church and state" is NOT found in the Constitution, the bogus term BCE and CE do NOT replace BC and AD (before Christ and Anno Domine). Students are warned about the dangers which international treaties place on US sovereignty, and the US is named a "Consittutional Republic"rather than a Democracy. Democrats should like that last one, if this were a direct Democracy, Obamacare would never have passed; instead our elected officials ignored the vox populi.
So, now after years of domination by the liberal revisionsists, a more accurate portrayal of US History may be printed in our children's textbooks. Don't get too excited, there are mostly liberals in publishing, according to the textbooks I have used as a teacher. I don't expect them to change to the truth overnight, when they've had decades to rewrite history.
I just hope that Catholic school administrators have the good sense to use good Catholic textbooks like Ignatius Press Catholic Textbook Project which present a balanced view of American and World history. Pleanty of cultural diversity, NO Catholic bashing. In fact the accomplishements of Catholics like Christopher Columbus are lauded.

Eduardo Verastegui hosts pro-life Latino Conference in LA

The pro-life movie "Bella" has saved 125 babies from abortion, but Eduardo Verastegui is not content to rest on his laurels. He spoke of his organizaion "Manto de Guadalupe" in my interview here, and this conference in Los Angeles will bring him one step closer to his goal of giving poor Latina women in LA real choice; choice to keep their babies rather than abort them.

The funds raised … will be used to open a medical center in Los Angeles that provides free, high-quality care for pregnant women and their preborn babies," stated Eduardo Verástegui in a press release.

Verástegui said the forthcoming Guadalupe Medical Center will be situated in an area that has ten abortion clinics, making the center “an oasis of life in the midst of a desert of death.” The dream of building a pro-life medical center in L.A. has been on the Catholic performer’s mind for several years, after he discovered that at least nine abortion clinics were operating within a one mile stretch of the city.
Wouldn't this be a wonderful country if the power of Hollywood saved lives instead of destroying them?
If stars cared as much for human life as they do for the rainforest?
God bless your work, Eduardo!

Protest over Empire State lighting heats up

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on Day 8 of the protest campaign on behalf of Mother Teresa:

Bishops back out of pro-abortion civil rights coaltion

It seems that civil rights types have defined killing your unborn child a civil right. So, the USCCB has got to re-examine it's relationships with formerly good orgainzations. You have to stay with the times, those who supported a good thing in the sixties, have become those who would destroy the family and thus society today. This is good news that the bishops are aware of this trend and announcing their disapproval by withdrawing their support. I sense that there is much more disassociating yet to be done. Thanks to watchdog Deal Hudson, one more scandalous relationship is severed.
The release stated that the bishops withdrew following the group's published support for the pro-abortion and homosexualist Supreme Court nominee, Solicitor General Elena Kagan, which was pointed out earlier this week by Deal Hudson of Catholic Advocate and reported by LSN Tuesday.

In withdrawing from the coalition, the USCCB "reiterated its commitment to oppose discrimination based on race, religion, sex, ethnicity, disabling condition, or age, and said that these are grave injustices and affronts to human dignity."
Elena Kagan has been described by one pundit as Obama's political "Soulmate". No way should Catholics be supporting someone with the pro-death, anti-family agenda of our president.

Be Careful when you give to disability charities

Not only do their execs make huge salaries, such as that of Geraldine Dawson,  but they may be spending research money, not on a cure, but on pre-natal diagnosis, AKA search and destroy techniques to kill babies with the disability. Not curing our children who already have the disability.
Such was the case with the March of Dimes and abortion of babies with Down synrome in the 1970's and the same thing is happening now that Autism may soon be prenatally diagnosed.
Geraldine Dawson is part of a movement determined to eradicate people with autism from our society. We need more respect and understanding when it comes to the autism community. Sebelius’ choice to appoint Dawson to the IACC does not represent the hope and change that many in the autism community were expecting.
The National Down Syndrome Society and National Down Syndrome Congress both call themselves pro-choice as well. We already have a 90% abortion rate of our children, yet they stand silently by about it.

Always Catholic

I am constantly amazed by the proliferation of excellent Catholic blogs and websites out there. Many times, I discover them as their owners follow me on Twitter or Facebook. Here is one site called Always Catholic. Run by an Italian American named Sophia, with a fondness for St Joseph.
Great work, paisana!
It reminds me of my sponsor for Confirmation, Aunt Kay, who, just before I received the sacrament, made me promise to always remain a Catholic. Thanks to daily Mass, my holy pastor, eucharistic adoration, the rosary,  and wonderful websites, to read, being a Catholic is a joy.

Nothing Christian about Socialism: Fr Corapi

Contrary to what many Catholics believe Socialism is NOT the answer to poverty, on the contrary, it just gives power to the few, and lowers us all down to the lowest common denominator, according to Fr Corapi in a speech to Legatus.

In his final segment, Fr. Corapi said that in all of his years as a priest, he's never seen such fear in people. "There's a lot of anxiety, a lack of trust in government, elected and appointed officials. There's a crisis of trust," he said. Then quoting from the Gospels of Mark and Luke, he advised "fear is useless; what is needed is trust."

Now we are fighting for the lives of unborn babies. Let's use the images on this blog to arm ourselves with the truth.

Miami laymen have Vatican fire bishop

In the midst of the priestly scandal a few years ago, a devout friend reminded me that every time Holy Mother Church is deeply mired in scandal, it was laymen who cleaned up the mess and set her straight. This is the case in Miami, where a lay group Christifidelis, sent the Vatican a detailed report on how a gay cabal of priests was running the archdiocese. The Vatican verified that it was true, and retired Archbishop Favola early. He is being replaced by more consevative Orlando bishop Wenski.
Good work, faithful sons of the Church! If more lay groups would do this, we could truly clean up from the scandal. Right now all that has been done in the US is put sex abuse programs in place which teach little children to protect themselves. How about removing those priests whose immoral behavior give scandal to the faithful and endanger innocent children? How about starting with homosexual priests whom the John Jay Study said are responsible for 90% of the sex abuse, with adolescent boys?
Until the American Church makes sweeping changes, the Vatican will only be able to react to crises like that in Miami. No wonder Fr Cutie was allowed to live in sin with a woman, causing scandal,  the hierachy of his diocese was too steeped in sodomy to care.
That lawsuit served as the launchpad for the investigations during which Christifidelis gathered the information that it included in its lengthy report submitted to the Vatican.

Giunta says that after the group submitted its report on the alleged corruption in the Miami archdiocese, Baroussa, “was contacted by a Vatican monsignor, who met with her in person and assured her that the Holy See would be investigating each and every one of the allegations presented in the report.” He adds that in the fall of 2006, “this monsignor contacted her again, informing her that our allegations had all been vindicated, and that Rome was going to act on the report.”

If you have a diocese like Miami, take action, send a report to the Vatican and clean it up, the souls of many are at stake!

The Nazis and the New York Times know how to destroy of their harshest critic; The Catholic Church

Heres's the formula;
if the Church uses her worldwide pulpit to point our your genocidal activity (death camps, abortion, assisted suicide) and you need to silence her, just fabricate a 'new' scandal. Use a typs of sex which is against the law, which will really scandalize 'em back home. Use the terrible cases of a few pedophile or homosexual priests who abuse children as your hook, unearth ancient facts and present them as breaking news, and bam, you got yourself a scandal to silence the Church. Then, you have a media blitz, and your cohorts in politics will craft appropriate legislation to punish the Church while protecting everyone else, and those in charge of the Culture of Death will reap the benefits.
According to this article in MercatorNet, Hitler had a media (propaganda) specialist, Joseph Goebbels, whose job was to provide not only cover for genocide, but polish Der Fuhrer's image, and recruit for the cause. Sound famliar? There are several news outlets which conduct what Bernie Goldberg called "ASlobbering Love Affair with the curent administration, which is bent upon forcing ordinary Americans to pay for the murder of the unborn and infirm under Obamacare.
The Nazis response to Pope Pius XI's "Mit brennender Sorge" a severe criticsm of the Nazis was the fabrication of a moral panic over a priestly pedophilia. These so called scandals cost the Church millions, but more importantly, lower the Church's credibility when the Pope criticizes the regime. After all, that was the goal of the 'scandal'.
Can you blame Pope Pius XII for taking a more cautious route, and hiding millions of Jews in convents, schools and even the Vatican?
The expression “moral panic” was only coined by sociologists in the 1970s to identify a social alarm created artificially, by amplifying real facts and exaggerating their numbers through statistical folklore, as well as “discovering” and presenting as “new” events which in reality are already known and which date to the past. There are real events at the base of the panic, but their number is systematically distorted.

Even without the benefit of modern sociology, Goebbels responded to the encyclical Mit brennender Sorge in 1937 with a textbook case of the creation of a moral panic.
No one is more outraged by abuse of minors and its cover up than I, but I don't see the use of getting the public worked up about 50 year old cases in which the perpetrator and most of his victims are dead.
And I'm not fooled by the timing of this 'crisis' which occurred just when aCatholics were THE lynchpin in deciding the fate of Obamacare.
I just can't help but notice that a common author of this formula of scandal is the same enemy who rejoices in the loss of souls due to genocide, AND pedophilia.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Ephesians 6:12 (New International Version)

Abuse victim in Malta: Pope Benedict XVI is a 'saint' :: Catholic News Agency (CNA)

When you cut through the 40 year old abuse cases, and talk with the Holy Father face to face, you see the compassion of the man in our Church who did the most to clean up the mess he didn't create: Pope Benedict XVI.
May the abuse victims see what Joseph saw in him and find the grace to forgive  and move on.
May the rest of the Church hierarchy learn from the Holy Father to see the pain in the victims' eyes, and let it guide their actions in the future. No more winking at sin and passing the trash. There are real lives at stake, and eternal souls in the balance.
And may the media see the plank in their own eye; the rampant abuse in the public sector, before they point out once again the sins of the Church. Enough of this hypocrisy!

The culture of tweens is backing off

It has long been known that the sexualization of our culture is driven by materialism, making money from the so-called tweens, from, age 8 to adolescence, a big marketing group. What this means is that companies are trying to market the same goods that teenagers buy, lip gloss, I-pods,DVDs,  thongs, and padded bras to little girls. YES I said padded bras.
But now, thanks to the heat the Catholic Church is suffering for 50 year old abuse cases, a Brittish store is re-thinking the wisdom of selling padded kiddie bras. Seems they don't want to be labelled pedophiles. Someone should have told them only the Catholic Church can be labelled with that name. There is NO statute of limitation for public schools who abuse children, in fact, in Connecticut, they can't even be sued. They can and do abuse children with impunity. The Shakeshaft Report underlines the indisputable fact that public school teachers are ten times more likely to abuse children, and the media spiked the story. And now, the CT Legislature wants to open up the statute of limitations beyond the 48 years for church abuse cases stretching back 50, 60, or 70 years. Just for priest abuse cases.
No worries, go ahead and sell kiddie bras, you are safe from the P-word.

Move over, Jonathan Swift

I admire good satire when I read it, it is so rare. When Jonathan Swift wanted to point out the fact that the English considered the Irish sub-human, he wrote "A Modest Proposal" which recommended that the English eat Irish children to shock the public into awareness of their own moral blindness.
”I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled ...”

I do therefore humbly offer it to public consideration that of the hundred and twenty thousand children already computed, twenty thousand may be reserved for breed, whereof only one-fourth part to be males; which is more than we allow to sheep, black cattle or swine; and my reason is, that these children are seldom the fruits of marriage, a circumstance not much regarded by our savages, therefore one male will be sufficient to serve four females. That the remaining hundred thousand may, at a year old, be offered in the sale to the persons of quality and fortune through the kingdom; always advising the mother to let them suck plentifully in the last month, so as to render them plump and fat for a good table.
What is the differnce between fattening a child for slaughter to be eaten like a lamb, or cutting them up alive in their mother's womb and selling off their body parts for research? Or using their skin for lampshades, like the Nazis did with Holocaust victims?

Over at First Things,  wrote a piece about what a fetus can "do" to avoid a similar fate to the Irish children.
May our Lord have mercy on your poor fetal soul if you have the misfortune to possess a chromosomal abnormality. Once you make it out of the womb you can be filled to the brim with bile—indeed you can rape, pillage, plunder, and murder—and you’ll have people defending your right to live. But right now if they measure the fluid behind your neck using a nuchal scan and discover you have too much—well, you’re as good as dead. Such a test reveals that you may have the unforgivable condition of Down syndrome.
Of course, it's merely a figure of speech to plead God's mercy on the soul of the unborn babe with Down syndrome. Our Merciful Lord would never do anything but welcome such pure souls into heaven, whether or not they make it birth. I was told by a holy priest how fortunate I was to have a child who will never offend God. My job as a mother, which is to get her to heaven, is an easy one.
My job as a writer is to convince the rest of the world of the worth of children with Down syndrome. For this, I request the prayers of their patron saint, Sevant of God Dr Jerome Lejeune, who discovered the cause of Down syndrome and sought to cure it, not because they weren't good enough, but to save them from the abortionist's knife. His discovery of karotyping became the weapon used to identify and kill them, to his great distress.
This trend of 90% abortion of babies with Down syndrome can expected to increase to 100% under Obmacare, as it becomes seen as an economic necessity. What further chills this mother's heart is the potential scenario, predicted by Sarah Palin,  that medical treatment to those children already born may be denied, since the don't score high enough on the statistically based Quality of Life Years Scale QALY.

Fr Frank Pavone on Justice Stevens

National Director, Priests for Life

US Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens has announced his retirement. The opening of a Supreme Court seat will again open the ongoing debate in our nation over abortion. Like it or not, a nominee’s stand on this issue will take center stage in the confirmation process.

If you take a tour of the US Capitol in Washington, DC, you eventually reach a relatively small room in the basement. It is the old Supreme Court. Prior to getting its own building across the street, the Supreme Court used to be housed under the building in which our federal lawmakers represent us. They pass laws; judges don't. Judges simply judge whether an existing law has been violated in a particular case, by particular parties.

Or at least that's what they're supposed to do. We live in an age of judicial activism, or as some have called it, judicial tyranny. Judges are striking down laws and writing new ones left and right, without precedent and without reason. The most damaging instance of this in our nation’s history was the Roe vs. Wade decision, unleashing the holocaust of abortion.

So, in short, the judge’s position on the issues shouldn’t matter. Judges aren’t politicians. There shouldn’t be a tug of war between factions trying to get people confirmed because they take “their position” on particular issues, or because they are “moderate” in their views. Commenting on the concept of “moderate judges,” Justice Antonin Scalia once said, “What in the world is a moderate interpretation of a constitutional text? Halfway between what it says and what we’d like it to say?”
All this is fair enough. People on both sides of major issues say they are not in favor of “litmus tests.”

But if a judge had written an opinion in a law review about why women should not have the right to vote, wouldn’t that single issue be enough to most people to disqualify him from being confirmed? Or what if a nominee were known to belong to the Ku Klux Klan? Wouldn’t that single fact be enough to disqualify him from consideration?
The fact is that we use litmus tests all the time. There are certain lines that most people agree should not be crossed.
Supreme Court Justices are not supposed to shape public policy, and their nomination and confirmation should be based on their qualifications, not their views on specific issues.

But there are certain issues so central to the very nature and purpose of government that one’s position on those issues is tantamount to a qualification for the job. The very purpose of government is the protection of human rights, starting with life. No court can legitimize an act of violence, or take away human rights. Anyone who fails to affirm that does not belong in any public office, much less the US Supreme Court.

The United States Senate will have the responsibility to vote for or against the President’s nominee. Let’s start now letting our Senators know where we stand. And please help us rally support on

Bishop Tobin breaks ties with Catholic Health Association over Obamacare

Tobin told CHA director Sr. Carol Keehan in a March 29 letter that he was “very disappointed that the Catholic Health Association, under your leadership, publicly endorsed the recent health care legislation that was passed and signed into law.”

“This action was taken despite the fact that the legislation will very possibly provide additional public funding for abortion and threaten the freedom of conscience of Catholic individuals and institutions,” wrote the outspokenly pro-life bishop.

This is what every bishop with hospitals in CHA should  be doing now. God bless Bishop Tobin, an outstanding leader.

Media creates widening sex abuse scandal

You have to understand how the media manipulates what is reported, when and how its reported in oreder to see the hands which orchestrated the 'widening sex abuse crisis' in the Church. It is an attempt to silence the truth that the Church speaks. An inconvenient truth.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on the latest developments in the sexual abuse scandal:

Every news story and commentary stating that the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is widening is factually wrong. The evidence shows just the opposite—it has been contracting for approximately a quarter century. Here's the proof: the John Jay College of Criminal Justice—not exactly an arm of the Catholic Church—has shown repeatedly that the vast majority of the abuse cases took place from the mid-60s to the mid-80s. And the reports over the last five years show a rapid decline. The latest report, covering 2008-2009, shows exactly six credible allegations made against over 40,000 priests and tens of thousands of others working for the Catholic Church.
Almost all of the chatter about the alleged widening of the scandal is a direct result of media sensationalism. Here is a perfect example, taken from a Reuters story today. The headline reads, "Norway's Catholic Church Reveals New Abuse Cases." But what is new is not a new wave of incidents, rather it is an admission by the Norwegian Catholic Church of four cases of alleged abuse that it had not previously disclosed. Two of the cases date back to the 1950s; another dates back two decades; and the fourth one was based on "rumors."
The same Reuters story opens by saying these four stories come "two days after it [the Norwegian Catholic Church] revealed that a bishop who resigned last year did so after abusing an altar boy." That makes it sound like a Church cover-up. Only at the end of the story does the reader learn that the reason why this story did not emerge until this week is precisely because the victim initially asked that it not be made public.

There is no other religious or secular institution being cherry-picked by lawyers and the media like that of the Catholic Church. If what happened in the 1950s qualifies as news when it happened in the Catholic Church, then surely it would be news to learn of all those who were abused a half-century ago by ministers, rabbis, school teachers and others. But it will never happen—such news fails to make the media salivate.

One more reason to convert from the Episcopal Church

Here she is, in all her clerical high church splendour, Priestess Barbie.
Even sadder is the idea that this would be a good tool for evangelization.
It IS a popular page on Facebook, after all. Lesbian bishopess didn't convert them, maybe Malibu Ken dressed as an acolyte with his 'friend' Stephen.
Oh please. . ..
Read it and weep. Or laugh.

Need some inspiration this Easter week/

The health care debcle, the betrayal of the bishops by the Catholic Health Association,  the spurious attacks on the Holy Father in the NYTimes, this has been a rough Lent for Catholicism.
If you are discouraged, and need to remember the power of goodness, here's a film to help you remember that one person following Christ, can make a world of difference; enjoy "The Blind Side" now available on DVD.
My review is up on US Catholic.

Breast cancer stamps contribute to abortion

Don't buy the new Breast Cancer Awareness US Postage stamps. The money goes to the Susan B Komen Foundation, which was begun for noble reasons, but has now developed ties to abortion clinics like Planned Parenthood.
UPDATE:
Here is the link to Jill Staneks' article on World Net Daily where she links the Susan B Komen Foundation to Planned Parenthood Foundation.

Purging homosexuality from the Church is the only way to true reform

The Legionaries of Christ have made a painful confession of the sins of their founder Fr Marciel, and I pray that from this day they may begin anew to discover their charism and purify what has been sullied through the tragic sins of their founder.I pray for them.
The rest of the Church will never fully recover from the priestly scandals until they face up to the scandal of homosexuality in the priesthood. The evidence is overwhelming, the crisis was a homosexual one, and no true purification will take place until this is acknowleged. Men with disordered sexuality have no place in the priesthood, they need our compassion and our prayers, but the Church needs to return to the practice of ordaining only chaste heterosexual men. Our seminaries were overtaken by a homosexual culture, which invaded the liturgy, the catechesis and Catholic schools. Michael Rose's book, "Goodbye Good Men" does an excellent job of explaining the depth and breadth of this crisis, I have no desire to do it here, and risk lawsuits. Let me simply say that the allegations in the book in my former diocese were true, and that the 'safe environments' program  continues to deny that so called pedophilia is a homosexual problem.
Dr Bill Donohue agrees.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on two news stories released today by the Associated Press:
One of the AP stories on priestly sexual abuse admits that "The overwhelming majority of the victims were adolescents. That means very few guilty priests were pedophiles, a term mental health professionals reserve for those who target pre-pubescent children." Fine. But then it says something which is positively remarkable: "Even though about 80 percent of victims were boys, the John Jay researchers and other experts on sex offenders say it does not mean the perpetrators were gay." So what would they be? Heterosexual?
The AP article relied on the extraordinary remark by Margaret Smith, a professor who worked on the John Jay study. She said that while Donohue "quoted the study's data correctly," I nonetheless "drew an unwarranted conclusion." What? That most of the molesters have been gay? Here is what she said: "The majority of the abusive acts were homosexual in nature. That participation in homosexual acts is not the same as sexual identity as a gay man." So if two men sodomize each other, no one really knows if this qualifies as gay sex. Now I must admit that when I was studying for my doctorate in sociology at NYU, they never taught me such logic.
Both AP stories say the reason why there were so many male victims is because the priests did not have access to girls as altar servers. Nonsense. There have been girl altar servers in some U.S. dioceses since 1983, and almost everywhere since 1994. The statistics actually show that the more priests have access to girls, the less likely it is for girls to be abused.
Here's the tally. As reported in 2004, between 1950 and 2002, 81 percent of the victims were male; in 2005, it stayed the same; in 2006, it dropped to 80 percent; in 2007, it climbed to 82 percent; in 2008, it jumped to 84 percent; and in 2009, it stayed at 84 percent.

In other words, even though priests have less access to males, homosexual priests are molesting them at a higher rate. It's time to end the gay cover-up once and for all.

In defense of our beloved shepherd, Pope Benedict

I am breaking my Holy Week fast from blogging for an important article which clears up the vile allegations of the New York Times. This article from Life Site News from the priest who was in charge of the Fr Murphy case, sets the record straight, and accuses the Times of sloppy journalism. In 1996, two decades after the last allegations of abuse by Fr. Murphy were made, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (then run by Cardinal Ratzinger) was informed of the accusations. The CDF instructed the local diocese to begin canonical proceedings against the priest. In the end, however, the recommendation was made by the CDF, due to Fr. Murphys extremely poor health, simply to restrict his pastoral activities, and he died several months later.

The NYTimes, however, has charged the CDF, and Pope Benedict himself, with having failed to take the case seriously, and of having declined to defrock the priest, “even though several American bishops repeatedly warned them that failure to act on the matter could embarrass the church.”
But Brundage has come to the defense of the pope, writing that "has done more than any other pope or bishop in history to rid the Catholic Church of the scourge of child sexual abuse and provide for those who have been injured."

It seems there may be an agenda afoot. . .don't you think it suspicious that the dirty tricks happened when the Church nearly succeeded in blocking the largest expansion of abortion in our time, in the health care bill?

Wisdom on the betrayal of Holy Week and Obamacare

Fr George Rutler puts the bitterness which has overtaken my soul over the health care plan into perspective. This is not the first time in history that the innocent have been betrayed by crooked hypocritical politicians using God's name in vain.
Read his meditation  here, and offer your fasting, prayers and mortifications this Holiest of Weeks, in reparation for the thousands of innocents who will die as a result of the bill. We have learned nothing from the death of Terri Schiavo, whose anniversary is March 31.
This blog will rest here until the Resurrection of Our Lord on Easter Sunday. I will be singing the Triduum for Holy Week in our church choir; Missa del Angelis, Panis Angelicus, Pange Lingua, O Sacred Head Surrounded, Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart), O Sacrum Convivium, Mass of the Blessed Sacrament,Ubi Caritas, and The King of Love My Shepherd Is. When politics disappoints, and it always does, there is always the Mass to soothe our battle weary souls.

A Blessed Holy Week to my readers.

Leten Alms could help homeless pregnant women

Are you holding a jar full of Lenten Alms? Want a suggestion of where they could do great good?

You could donate the money to help pregnant homeless women of Good Counsel Homes in the South Bronx and help create a prayer wall with Our Lady of Guadalupe's image on the side of their home in the Bronx.

Peter O'Malley a volunteer at Good Counsel says,

We invite you to participate with your prayers and gifts in the placing of the image Our Lady of Guadalupe on the exterior wall of Good Counsel’s home in the South Bronx, NY for the benefit of homeless expectant mothers choosing life for their unborn children.

Nun wars

Read Sr Mary Ann Walsh's USCCB Media Blog. She sets the record straight on which nuns the social justice group NETWORK represents, and which they don't.
Here is a great article in the National Catholic Register about which Catholic organizations you can trust to make a political statement, and which you cannot.

 Good for you, Sister!

Planned Parenthood is cashin' in on health care plan

Rep Stupak, if the President's Executive Order prevents federal funding of abortion, then why is Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion business in the world, so happy about the bill?

Planned Parenthood called the pro-abortion health care bill the House approved late Sunday night a victory and applauded the financial windfall it expected to reap as a result. The abortion business also dismissed the executive order President Barack Obama promised Congressman Bart Stupak as harmless.
