Some time ago, I heard an excellent talk about the history of Margaret Sanger, and how her movement to bring birth control to the poor was motivated by eugenics. She had every intention of pushing abortion in the 1920's but knew the American public would be outraged. At that time, every religious group recognized the damage contraception would do to morality in society. Birth control eroded marriage far enough for abortion to be considered necessary by the Supreme Court in the 1960's in case it failed. An outrage became a necessity. How far we've come!
Planned Parenthood, continues this ghoulish legacy,as America's biggest, for-profit abortion provider, with the support of our tax dollars. Barbara Curtis has an excellent post about Planned Parenthood, and it's reach in society.
