Never forget Tiananmen Square

Every time I remember how much of this nation's economy is in the hands of the Chicoms, a cold chill runs down my spine. They have not moved one inch closer to granting human rights since Tiananmen Square massacre of dissenting students. Our materialism and crooked politicians have led this nation down a very dangerous path. Here's an eyewitness account from a journalist who was there on June 4, 1989, twenty years ago today. I have two friends who were students in the protest, camping out in the Square. The wife got a cold and went home, and the husband left the protest to take care of her, just before the tanks rolled over the students. They live in the USA now, and are parents of a boy and a girl. The entire family, mindful of teh actions of Divine Providence, has become Christian.

At 4:00 a.m. the streetlamps went out. In the dark, armored personnel carriers rolled forward into the square. The protesters on the monument held their ground. Just before 5:00 a.m. the lights came back on, revealing the soldiers, guns at the ready, preparing to rush the monument. With that, the protesters began filing off the monument and out the south end of the square. By dawn, the army had sealed off Tiananmen and the streets around it.
Tank reinforcements were rolling into the center of Beijing. The Communist Party's mopping up of the protest movement began in earnest, marked by checkpoints, arrests and gunfire echoing here and there for days around the capital. There was also a crackdown across all of China.
At the time, I was working for the editorial pages of this newspaper. In the story I filed later that day to New York, I closed with the observation that by dawn on June 4 the Chinese army had already destroyed the white statue of liberty built by the protesters and that no doubt the square, tidied and thoroughly policed, would soon be available again for official functions. I noted that it would be important to remember the heroes of 1989, the people who carried banners to Tiananmen demanding democracy, the people who that spring cried out so many times: "Tell the world what we want. Tell the truth about China."

Here is today's action on the Square, increased police patrols. How tragic.
Pray for human rights in China.

New York State Lawmakers include public schools in statute of limitations for child molestation

This levels the playing field; no it slants it as public schools have so much more abuse to account for, I doubt this legislation will pass. but if it does, Bill Donohue will be advertising in the paper for lawsuits against public schools, go get 'em Bill!
It's time for justice to be done.

Jennings a Radical appointee to Education Department

American a Muslim Nation?

from the Family Research Council

First he declared that America isn't "a Christian nation." Now President Obama is telling the world that his country is a Muslim one. In a stunning interview with France's Canal Plus, he said, "If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world." The statement, one in a long line of White House shockers, is part of the administration's campaign to soften the opposition to America in advance of the President's speech to the Islamic world tomorrow.

As ABC's Jake Tapper puts it, President Obama is getting in touch with his "inner-Muslim," even embracing "Hussein," his once-taboo middle name. Wednesday, the President is hoping his silky oratory will translate well in Cairo, where he will try to charm the Arab nations with his Muslim roots. While the White House may talk a good game, this President's agenda is the embodiment of every immorality the Islamic world detests about the West. In five months, his policies have endorsed global promiscuity, sodomy, and abortion.

Just last Friday, his Baghdad embassy presided over the region's first "drag party" in the middle of a war zone. Like a growing number of Americans, the Middle East sees the tension between the President's rhetoric and the global reality. This kind of duplicity only fans the flames of anti-American sentiment.

While the President speaks of peace and reconciliation on the Arab stage, American soldiers are being gunned down in the U.S. by Muslim converts. On Monday, a 24-year-old Army recruiter was killed and another wounded by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammed in Arkansas. The suspect admitted to the killing, blaming "what [the Army] had done to Muslims in the past."

As my friend Gary Bauer pointed out in his End of Day, "President Obama, who immediately condemned the murder of abortionist George Tiller on Sunday, still has not--24 hours later--said one word about the cowardly attack on these soldiers. The U.S. Justice Department, which sent federal marshals yesterday to guard abortion clinics, has sent no one to guard our military recruitment offices, even though more than 100 of those offices have been attacked in recent years... (only 2 abortion clinic attacks have happened in 10 years)

I guess he was just too busy pouring over his... proclamation declaring June 'Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.'

True Genius seeks the truth

Kevin Jennings

Leader of the 'Pride' by the Family Research Council
Considering the moves by this administration, every month feels like "gay pride month." But in keeping with the liberal tradition, President Obama did single out the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) movement for special recognition yesterday, signing a White House proclamation that officially designates June as "LGBT Pride Month."

President Bush had refused to acknowledge the hype, saying repeatedly that the White House shouldn't "politicize people's sexual orientation." In the proclamation released Monday, his successor makes no secret about the upcoming policy push. "I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world," President Obama writes. "Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions, and ending the existing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy..."

If, as the saying goes, people are policy, then we have no doubt where this White House stands. At last count, the Obama administration employed 36 open homosexuals. That number could climb to 37 if the Department of Education manages to squeak Kevin Jennings past an unsuspecting public. Jennings, the controversial founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), has been appointed by Secretary Arne Duncan to be Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools despite his endorsement of the book Queering Elementary Education, for which Jennings wrote the foreword. For those who aren't familiar with Queering, it focuses extensively on "re-educating parents" who object to teaching children about homosexual families, "affirming 'sissy boys,'" and eliminating "Mother's Day" and "Father's Day" from the classroom. Other chapters encourage the use of music to indoctrinate kids (with pro-homosexual songs like "Mama, What's a Dyke?"), and the drive to include gay-friendly literature in grade school, particularly the type that "affirms the comfortable friendships between young boys and adult homosexual men." Obviously, this is more of an education than most American parents bargained for. If you'd like to protect your kids from this environment, join the protest by contacting Secretary Arne Duncan at 202-401-3000. Tell him to there is nothing "safe" about Kevin Jennings--and his "queering" agenda!
I just Googled the new verb queering and got an education!
Look at this article on World Net Daily to see what kind of agenda Kevin Jennings has in mind for America. His friends at GSLEN have already done great damage here in New England, not only have they forced gay marriage upon us, but they are forcing queering upon our children in public schools.
"Children need to challenge any environment that is too "heteronormative, Anglocentric and phallocentric," according to Steph's mom, who sees that "'queerly raised' children are agents" using "strategies of adaptation, negotiation, resistance and subversion.'"

Tiller murderer not inolved in mainstream prolife movement

Roeder did some jail time for his refusal to comply with DMV required liscence plate. He was part of the Minnesota Freeman, an anti-goverment group which has tangled with law enforcement. BUT his only link to the prolife movement is two comments he left on Operation Rescue's website. He also has a history of mental illness, according to his ex-wife.
"As has been the case with most previous incidents of abortion-related violence, Roeder appears to have an affiliation with extremist political groups but not with the mainstream pro-life movement."
Two incidents of deadly violence have taken place this month perpetrated by Muslim extremists: the drive by shooting of a young private at a military recruiting center in Arkansas and the planting of a bomb in a NYC synagogue. Nowhere is the media linking these two events and blaming all Muslims for these events the way they are blaming Bill O'Reilly and prolifers for the murder of George Tiller. Tomorrow President Obama will make an address to Muslims from Egypt. I doubt he will touch upon these acts of violence, denouncing them the way he denounced the murder of Tiller.
We must not back down and allow Tilller's murder to taint our 30 years of peaceful, prayerful protest and untold efforts on behalf of pregnant women in crisis with his blood.

State of CT going after Diocese of Bridgeport's tax exempt status

from the Catholic League
FREE SPEECH IN CONNECTICUT:
CATHOLICS NEED NOT APPLY

Catholic League president Bill Donohue addresses the state of free speech for Catholics in Connecticut:

Three months ago, two lawmakers from Connecticut sought a state takeover of the governing structure of the Catholic Church.
This gambit, which we properly labeled a “fascist stunt,” lost. The reason it lost is because of the courageous reaction of Catholics, led by their bishops, and organizations like the Catholic League. Among the steps taken to thwart this unconstitutional abridgement of religious liberty was a rally at the state Capitol.

In retaliation, some state officials are now seeking to penalize the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport, led by Bishop William E. Lori. They have accused the Bridgeport Diocese of breaking the state’s lobbying laws. On May 29, Bishop Lori filed suit seeking an injunction to stop the punitive measures from being implemented.

What is at stake is practically every liberty enshrined in the First Amendment: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, religious liberty and the provision guaranteeing separation of church and state. First the tyrants sought to take control of the Catholic Church, and now their lackeys are trying to muzzle the free speech of Catholics. Had this been reversed—had the bishops sought to take command of the legislative functions of the state of Connecticut and then proceeded to get a gag order placed on lawmakers—everyone who is now silent would be apoplectic.

Just last month, there was a rally in Hartford demanding universal health care. According to
Courant.com, approximately 140 “clergy and religious folks marched to the state Capitol to ask to talk. They wore clerical collars, suit coats and hijabs, and chanted and carried signs that said, ‘Muslims for Health Care,’ and ‘Health Care for All.’” This rally occasioned no threats by state officials of any kind.

Contact Carol Carson, the person who is behind this anti-Catholic effort and is being sued by the Diocese of Bridgeport:

Here is Bishop Lori's statement as posted on his blog
This is the “Constitution State”??

It is with a great degree of shock and dismay that I must share with you a recent action that the State of Connecticut – the so-called “Constitution State” – has initiated with respect to our Diocese.
As you will recall, following the surprise introduction of Bill 1098, which singled out Catholic parishes and would have forced them to reorganize contrary to Church law and the First Amendment, our Diocese responded in the most natural, spontaneous, and, frankly, American, of ways:
We alerted our membership – in person and through our website;
We encouraged them to exercise their free speech by contacting their elected representatives; and
We organized a rally at the State Capitol in Hartford.
As a result, we helped highlight the unconstitutional nature of this proposal such that the bill was withdrawn even before its first scheduled public hearing. It was an outstanding demonstration of democracy-in-action and a great civics lesson for our children. Our Founding Fathers would have been proud.
Examiner’s Conclusion
Last week, however, we were informed that, in the view of an examiner at the Connecticut Office of State Ethics, this was not a textbook case of citizen democracy and free speech – it actually constituted “lobbying”!
Accordingly, the examiner alleges that we failed to register as a lobbyist, a process that would subject the Diocese to intrusive oversight and regulation by the State. As such, the Diocese supposedly violated State law and is potentially subject to civil penalties.
Once again, we should be outraged.
“Lobbying”? Exhortations from the pulpit, information posted to the world wide web, a rally in the middle of the day on the State’s most public piece of property? This cannot possibly be what our Legislature had in mind when it enacted lobbying laws to bring more transparency and oversight to a legislative process that has been corrupted by special interests and backroom deals.
First Amendment Response
Let’s be clear: we violated no law. We acted in response to an outrageous proposal that was imminently pending review and threatened to impose dramatic and blatantly unconstitutional requirements on our Church.

Unfortunately, this new action cannot be seen as anything other than an attempt to muzzle the Church and subject our right of free speech to government review and regulation. This government action tramples on the First Amendment freedoms of speech, assembly, and religion, and should shock the conscience of all citizens of the Constitution State.
We have now been left with no choice but to file a civil rights lawsuit in Federal Court against State of Connecticut officials seeking relief from this shocking government action. A copy of the lawsuit and more information is posted now on our
website.
As a Bishop, I will take every measure possible to defend our faith and our Church from attempts to silence us – and our individual parishes could be targeted next.
Thank you to the following for spreading the news about this outrageous action of the Office of State Ethics!

Donohue defends Bill O'Reilly

SCAPEGOATING O’REILLY

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a story in today’s New York Times that details how some of Bill O’Reilly’s critics are trying to blame him for the death of Dr. George Tiller:

In all of Bill O’Reilly’s denunciations of Dr. George Tiller, he never once called for anyone to even post his address on the web, never mind call for his death. Yet O’Reilly is being blamed for Tiller’s murder. If O’Reilly’s critics had any sense of decency, or fairness, they would have long condemned what Hustler king Larry Flynt once said about the Fox News Network personality.

On August 5, 2003, Flynt launched a National Prayer Day, calling for O’Reilly’s death. Flynt asked God “to afflict Bill O’Reilly with a brain aneurysm that will lead to his slow and painful death. O, Lord, may his blood vessels bulge out of his head and explode without mercy.”

To my knowledge, none of O’Reilly’s foes have ever damned Flynt for this despicable comment.
They therefore have zero moral capital to lash out at O’Reilly for his criticisms of a man who proudly took the lives of over 60,000 children.

Padre Oprah apostates to the Episcopal Church

Yes, that's the word to use, he left the fullness of truth to follow his concupiscence. I hope she's worth it. I mean, you give up the salvation of your immortal soul, you better enjoy your time on earth. A lot.
As Fr Sirico said on "The World Over" Friday night, "it's not the first time someone has joined the Episcopal Church over concupiscence."
First Henry the VII, then the Lambeth Conference the first church to OK contraception in the 30's then gay bishop Gene Robinson. This church, whose members are down to nothing in the land of it's birth, is following a tragic trajectory. Padre Alberto Cutie is just one more low point.
How much could his faith have meant to him if he decided to leave it in one week/
See the photos at "Whispers in the Loggia".
After the news broke, Archbishop John Favalora of Miami released the following statement on Cutié's "separation from the church":
I am genuinely disappointed by the announcement made earlier this afternoon by Father Alberto Cutié that he is joining the Episcopal Church.
According to our canon law, with this very act Father Cutié is separating himself from the communion of the Roman Catholic Church (c. 1364, §1) by professing erroneous faith and morals, and refusing submission to the Holy Father (canon 751). He also is irregular for the exercise of sacred orders as a priest (canons 1041 and 1044, §1) and no longer has the faculties of the Archdiocese of Miami to celebrate the sacraments; nor may he preach or teach on Catholic faith and morals (cannon 1336, §1). His actions could lead to his dismissal from the clerical state.
This means that Father Cutié is removing himself from full communion with the Catholic Church and thereby forfeiting his rights as a cleric. Roman Catholics should not request the sacraments from Father Cuité. Any sacramental actions he attempts to perform would be illicit. Any Mass he says would be valid but illicit, meaning it does not meet a Catholic’s obligation. Father Cutié cannot validly officiate at marriages of Roman Catholics in the Archdiocese of Miami or anywhere.
Father Cutié is still bound by his promise to live a celibate life, which he freely embraced at ordination. Only the Holy Father can release him from that obligation.
To the Catholic faithful of Saint Francis de Sales Parish, Radio Paz and the entire Archdiocese of Miami, I again say that Father Cutié’s actions cannot be justified, despite his good works as a priest (statement of May 5, 2009). This is all the more true in light of today’s announcement. Father Cutié may have abandoned the Catholic Church; he may have abandoned you. But I tell you that the Catholic Church will never abandon you; the Archdiocese of Miami is here for you.
Father Cutié’s actions have caused grave scandal within the Catholic Church, harmed the Archdiocese of Miami − especially our priests – and led to division within the ecumenical community and the community at large. Today’s announcement only deepens those wounds.
When Father Cutié met with me on May 5th, he requested and I granted a leave of absence from the exercise of the priesthood. Because of this, he could no longer be the administrator of St Francis de Sales Parish or the General Director of Radio Paz. For the good of the Church and to avoid the media frenzy, I chose not to impose publicly an ecclesiastical penalty, although his admitted actions clearly warranted it. Since that meeting, I have not heard from Father Cutié nor has he requested to meet with me. He has never told me that he was considering joining the Episcopal Church.
I must also express my sincere disappointment with how Bishop Leo Frade of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida has handled this situation. Bishop Frade has never spoken to me about his position on this delicate matter or what actions he was contemplating. I have only heard from him through the local media. This truly is a serious setback for ecumenical relations and cooperation between us. The Archdiocese of Miami has never made a public display when for doctrinal reasons Episcopal priests have joined the Catholic Church and sought ordination. In fact, to do so would violate the principles of the Catholic Church governing ecumenical relations. I regret that Bishop Frade has not afforded me or the Catholic community the same courtesy and respect.
In my nearly 50 years as a priest, I have often preached on Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son – which really should be called the parable of the Forgiving Father (Luke 15, 11-32). Perhaps the story told by the Lord so long ago is applicable to our discussions this afternoon.
A father had two sons. One of them took his inheritance early and left home, spending his money wantonly. The father waited patiently for the return of his prodigal son, who after he had seen the error of his ways, repented and returned home. Upon his return, the father lovingly embraced him and called him his son. I pray that Father Cutié will “come to his senses” (Luke 15, 17) and return home. The Catholic Church seeks the conversion and salvation of sinners, not their condemnation. The same is my attitude toward Father Cutié.
We must not forget, however, that there were two sons in the Lord’s story. The other son, who never left home, was angry that his erring brother was welcomed home by the father. To all faithful Catholics, I say what the father said to this second son: “You are with me always and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice. This brother of yours was dead and has come back to life. He was lost, and is found” (Luke 15, 31-32).
In this beautiful parable Jesus teaches us that God is a loving and forgiving Father. Each of us has experienced that love, each of us needs that forgiveness; for we are all sinners. If our brother comes home, let us celebrate with the Father.

In conclusion, I commend and salute the priests of the Archdiocese of Miami and all priests who faithfully live and fulfill their promise of celibacy. By their fidelity to their promise they reflect more clearly to the world the Christ whose total gift of himself to the Father was pure and chaste love for his brothers and sisters. In our times so pre-occupied with sex, the gift of celibacy is all the more a sign of the Kingdom of Heaven where, as scripture says, there will be “no marrying or giving in marriage” (Matthew 22, 30). I encourage all Catholics to pray for and support our dedicated priests.

Fr Frank Pavone on the Tiller killer

Tiller's death already being used by the left

THE POLITICS OF TILLER’S DEATH

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented on the death of Dr. George Tiller:

The Catholic League unequivocally condemns the killing of serial killer, Dr. George Tiller. As I said on the CBS Evening News, “We have to get the message out that life means we have to respect all life, including somebody as bad as Dr. Tiller was.” Unfortunately, his death has already occasioned a highly political response from his allies.

From what we know of the suspect, Scott Roeder, the ex-con fits the profile of a deranged man. Yet there are those who are already trying to pin the blame on others. Andrew Sullivan and the Daily Kos have fingered Bill O’Reilly and are running a video of O’Reilly’s past denunciations of Tiller. Worse than this irresponsible accusation is the hypocrisy of the Daily Kos: above the O’Reilly video is an advertisement for an upcoming interview on C-Span2 with Bill Ayers, the urban terrorist who is a hero in some left-wing circles.

Others are busy collectivizing the guilt. Kim Gandy, president of the National Organization for Women, refers to “those who are behind this murder,” suggesting that this is part of a pro-life cabal. Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, also blames “individuals” for Tiller’s death. Similarly, Dr. Warren Hern, a late-term abortionist from Colorado, said Tiller’s death was the result of “a fascist movement in this country.”

Perhaps the ultimate politicization is the decision by U.S. Attorney Eric Holder ordering federal marshals to protect “other appropriate people and facilities around the nation.” Thus does Holder feed the frenzy of the pro-abortion industry that what happened to Tiller is the work of the pro-life community. We will closely monitor these developments.

Randall Terry's response to Tiller's death

The Right Response to Dr. Tiller's Death
Hello Pro-life Friend:
As you know, abortionist George Tiller is dead.
(Video for prolife leaders on how we should respond can be viewed below)

First, we should grieve for him that he did not have an opportunity to properly prepare his soul to face his Maker.(maybe he did, we have no way of knowing) Unless some miracle happened, he left this life with his hands drenched with the innocent blood of tens of thousands of babies that he murdered. Surely there will be a dreadful accounting for what he has done.
It now falls to pro-life activists like you and me to stand strong and unflinching in the face of the unjust criticism we will now endure because of his killing. And so I turn my attention to the attacks that will follow his death.
We must use this as a "teaching moment;" a chance for "dialogue" with our fellow Americans concerning this terrific holocaust of the unborn. In that light, I am going to speak clearly and without compromise. I beg you to read this entire letter, and to then watch the video I filmed.
Let us be clear: George Tiller was a mass murderer. He routinely killed innocent children who were "viable." For the unlearned, that means that those babies could live outside the womb on their own. He specialized in killing "handicapped" children whose parents decided that they were not fit to live. He even offered photographs of the dead children and baptisms for the victims that fell under his knife.
According to God's laws, and the laws that govern how we protect the innocent in times of peace, George Tiller was one of the most evil men on the planet; every bit as vile as the Nazi war criminals who were hunted down, tried, and sentenced after they participated in the "legal" murder of the Jews that fell into their hands.
I write all of these words with surgical precision to shore up the more timid elements of the pro-life movement. Pro-life leaders are already falling over themselves to exclaim, "We are peaceful! We deplore this violence!"
Of course we are peaceful; that is why this horrific shooting in a church has immediately garnered national attention. It is precisely because we are peaceful that Dr. Tiller's killing sticks out like a huge wart on an otherwise flawless complexion. If abortionists were gunned down every week, it would gather no more attention than crack dealers who are gunned down every week by fellow drug dealers.
For those surprised by my words, let me tell you exactly why I am using such clear and unflinching rhetoric. Here is what is about to happen: President Obama has already relayed his "shock." The arch proponents of child killing such as Planned Parenthood, the National Organization of Women, NARAL, and a host of other enemies of children are going to blame the pro-life movement for Dr. Tiller's death.
These child killers, and their allies in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill, will attempt to browbeat the pro-life movement into surrendering our most effective weapons in this battle:

our rhetoric, our actions, and our images.
Concerning rhetoric, they will blame those of us who call abortion "murder" and say that it is this highly charged rhetoric that inspires people to "take the law into their own hands."
Concerning actions, they will say that our protests and vigils and sit-ins are responsible for the shooting.
Concerning images, they will whine that the pictures of babies murdered at the hands of Tiller and other abortionists incite people to acts of violence.
All of these accusations are lies.
Beyond that, these foolish accusations fly in the face of equally radical rhetoric, images, and images in the civil rights movement, the suffragette movement, and the abolitionist movement. If Dr. Martin Luther King had followed the advice of the timid in his day, President Obama would still be riding in the back of the bus.
Simply put: pro-lifers must not flinch, waver, or in any way alter our course in our epic struggle to make child killing illegal again.
Our rhetoric must bear witness to the truth: abortion is murder. Abortion is the brutal slaughter of innocent human beings; a vile, demonic murder of a human being made in the image of God. Those "doctors" like George Tiller who slay the innocent are hired assassins whose hands are covered with blood. As the sacred Scriptures say: "Cursed is he who receives a bribe to strike down an innocent person."
Our actions must be equal to this crime: we must protest with vigorous (yet peaceful) actions such as have been used by every social revolution since America's birth. The easiest picture to have is that of the civil rights activists of the 1960s. They held "illegal" marches, freedom rides, and "sit-ins" at lunch counters; they were met with water canons, dogs, police brutality, arrests, and jail. If we are going to end child killing, we must unflinchingly adopt the strategies of heroes past.
Our images must simply reflect the truth. We must continue to show the victims' bodies that we have pulled out of dumpsters; we must not retreat a single inch from showing the decapitated heads of little boys and girls, the arms and legs that were suctioned or carved out of their mothers wombs; we must paint the picture of sewers and landfills being used as unholy graves for these holy victims.
In the days following Dr. Tillers killing, every pro-abortion advocate in the country will howl that Tiller's death is the fault of the pro-life movement's rhetoric, actions, and images. We must not fear, nor flinch, nor waver on any front.
Our mission is to end the legalized killing of the unborn from conception until natural birth. In this epic struggle - this "war" between the "culture of death" and the "culture of life"
- there are going to be unforeseen crises and difficulties. Dr. Tiller's death is one such unforeseen moment.
However, we must not allow the forces of death to use this moment to glorify their heinous acts. Rather, we must use Dr. Tiller's death as a "teaching moment" to pull the veil away from the insidious murder that is happening every day, every hour, in abortion mills like Tiller's across the country.
Wherever Mr. Tiller's soul is right now - I know he agrees.
Be strong, be brave, and be unflinching in the coming days. We must defend the babies in the face of the death of their killer.

George Tiller murdered on his way into church

No readers of my blog would consider me who approved of the action of George Tiller. However, as a pro-lifer I cannot condone the fact that he was was shot and killed on his way to his Reformed Lutheran Church Sunday morning. Violence only begets violence. I pray that Tiller had a moment to repent of his grievous sins before meeting the Just Judge.
Here are some reactions from pro-life groups:

Focus on the Family founder and chairman emeritus James C. Dobson, Ph.D., issued the following statement Sunday on the slaying of late-term abortionist George Tiller:"We are shocked by the murder of George Tiller, and we categorically condemn the act of vigilantism and violence that took his life. America has from its foundation respected the rule of law, by which every citizen is guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those constitutional rights are forfeited only when crimes have been committed, and the perpetrator is charged and found guilty by a jury of his or her peers in a court of law.
"Tiller recently faced serious charges related to the killing of babies in violation of the law, by the most grotesque procedures administered without anesthetics or compassion. We profoundly regretted the outcome of his legal case, believing the doctor had the blood of countless babies on his hands. Nevertheless, he was acquitted by the court and declared "not guilty" in the eyes of the law. That is our system, and we honor it.
"Our condolences are extended to the Tiller family. The person or persons responsible for his death should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Joe Schiedler from the Pro-life Action League has a personal memory of George Tiller.
The Pro-Life Action League released the following statement today regarding the death of late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller:"We deplore the killing of George Tiller on Sunday morning," said Joseph M. Scheidler, national director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League."It has always been my philosophy that we convert abortionists," said Scheidler. "As activists committed to saving lives, we vigorously oppose violence."Scheidler once shared a taxi with Dr. Tiller as both were headed from the airport in New Orleans to the National Abortion Federation Convention. "Tiller apparently recognized me, but did not recall that I was a pro-life activist. He assumed I was another abortionist attending the conference," said Scheidler. "He enthusiastically extolled the value of the ultrasound in performing abortions, and invited me to visit his clinic in Wichita."The following day Scheidler attended Tiller's presentation on the use of ultrasound. By then the doctor had realized that Scheidler was in the opposition camp, and refused to proceed with his presentation until Scheidler left the room."Having sat and talked with George Tiller, I probably feel a little more connection with him than many other pro-lifers might," said Scheidler. "I am adamantly opposed to what he did for a living. But I believe that anyone can come to the truth. Tiller deserved the chance to turn away from the evil of abortion. I cannot condone the taking of his life."Read more at the Pro-Life Action League's website:http://prolifeaction.org/#tiller

The NCR Blog has a list of pro-life reactions to this event for which ALL prolife activists will be punished and painted with a broad brush of violence, as we are in this British newspaper, and calls for us to be rounded up and inmprisoned have already reached a crescendo. No longer will we be allowed to pray in front of abortion mills, now as under the Clinton administration, those with rosary beads who pray for women killing their children, will be considered dangerous co-conspirators with Tiller's killer.
We will all pay the price for misguided actions of one isolated man. Deacon Keith Fournier likens Tiller's murder to St Peter severing Malchus' ear in a futile attempt to save Jesus from arrest in his piece in Catholic Online. "The sword belongs in its' sheath!

We reject intentional abortion because every procured abortion is the killing of a member of our human family. The dignity of that little human person in the first home of the whole human race cries out for changing the unjust approach to giving protected status to intentional abortion in America. However, this dignity is present in all human persons, even those with whom we disagree and those whose actions we decry."
Operation Rescue is predictably under fire because Tiller murder suspect Scott Roeder once left a comment on their blog. Here is their statement:
Scott Roeder has never been a member, contributor, or volunteer with Operation Rescue. Mr. Roeder may have posted to our open blog web site, as have thousands of members of the public, including those with pro-abortion views, but he is not affiliated with this organization.

We deplore the criminal actions with which Mr. Roeder is accused.

The pro-life ethic is to value all human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Operation Rescue has diligently and successfully worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see to it that abortionists around the nation are brought to justice. Without due process, there can be no justice.

In spite of these horrific events, we remain dedicated to working through all peaceful and legal means available to bring an end to the killing of innocent children through abortion.

George Tiller was cleared from murder charges in the death of 19 year old Christin Gilbert, a woman who died a slow, painful death after her mother brought her in for a late term abortion in his clinic. He didn't care about whether Christin lived or died. She had Down syndrome.
Here is a reminder of what George Tiller did for a living.
May Almighty God have mercy on his soul.

Maine diocese under attack

from Focus on the Family Citizen Link
A national gay-activist group is accusing the Diocese of Maine of violating Internal Revenue Service rules by collecting signatures to place a marriage-protection amendment on the ballot.
The Empowering Spirits Foundation filed a similar complaint last year against a California church that supported that state's marriage amendment.
“That complaint was similarly frivolous," said Erik Stanley, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund. "The IRS has done nothing against them. Under IRS regulations, churches have the right to take a position and to advocate in support of a public referendum on traditional marriage.”
A "people's veto" is in the works in Maine after the Legislature legalized same-sex "marriage" this month. It allows voters to place an issue on the ballot.
Mike Heath, executive director of the Maine Family Policy Council, said gay activists "are interested in controlling people’s speech and going beyond that to control what they believe. Folks in other parts of the country need to understand this soon will land on their doorstep.”
