The Church Jesus founded, the Cathholic Church, and Christ Himself are one. <br />The individual members of his Church may lack mercy,or even the Holy Father in is actions but the Holy Father's statements made <br />'ex cathedra' are free from error by Christ's own promise to St Peter in the Gospel, so the Church has never departed from the Mercy of God in matters of faith or morals. <br />Christ promised never to leave us and He is with us in the Roman Catholic Church and in the Holy Eucharist. That is why we are singled out for persecution.
