I have recently heard of it referred to as "Lejeune's syndrome"! It is very rare, affecting 1 in 50,000 infants. As the mother of an 8 year old daughter who has Cri du chat, I know all too well that "fewer births mean less investment in promising research". There is little interest in studying a syndrome that affects so relatively few. Last week we were privileged to attend our annual North American conference, along with 99 other families.
